In a crazy last minute transfer market twist, Manchester United have agreed personal terms with a star winger playing for Chelsea.

As we were approaching the final week of the transfer window, it looked like United’s final dip into the transfer market would be for long-term priority target Manuel Ugarte. However it doesn’t look like The Red Devils are stopping there.

Over the weekend news emerged of Chelsea wanting to challenge Juventus in signing Jadon Sancho, with the potential of using Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling to get the deal done.

Whilst United have rejected the opportunity to sign Chilwell, Dan Ashworth has been drawn in by the chance of signing Sterling, so negotiations have been happening between the two Premier League sides.

It’s known that Ashworth is a big fan of Sterling since their time at the England camp together. Also with how measured Ashworth and his team have been throughout the transfer market, it seems unlikely that this is a panic buy, and more that the sporting director sees real promise in the deal.

Now it’s emerged that the exchange of players are actually being looked it in separate deals, meaning if Sancho ends up going to Juventus instead, United may still sign Sterling.

However, much like Sancho, Sterling has a significant salary attached to him at £300,000 per week, meaning that signing the England winger would require creativity and sacrifice from United and Sterling.

With their clever transfer business so far, Untied are keen not to slip up last minute and agree to a deal that would negatively affect the club’s finances.

So, United in Focus have reported that The Red Devils have been very clear with the Chelsea man that they would not be able to pay him over £200,000 a week, with this being the max they could sign off.

Interestingly though, Sterling has agreed to this deal in principle, with some work still to do.

  • Manchester United linked midfielder set for Premier League transfer

Manchester United have finally got their main midfield target in the form of Manuel Ugarte from Paris Saint-Germain.

The Uruguayan has been the priority target throughout the summer, with United desperate to sign him, and the midfielder only wanting a transfer to Old Trafford.

Ultimately, The Red Devils have secured a deal for Ugarte, however, at one point there appeared to be too big a difference in the two clubs valuation of the 23-year-old, and it was reported that United abandoned the deal. In light of this, The Red Devils began retracing their steps in their midfield shortlist and rallied round other potentials.

Now, one of those strongly considered is set to be moving to the Premier League.

Back in November last year, fresh off the back of their Copa Libertadores victory, a number of clubs, including United, started looking at Fluminense’s midfielder, Andre.

It was highly anticipated that the then 22-year-old would be moving to Europe in January. The question didn’t appear to be if he would move, but which club would he transfer to.

Ultimately the Brazilian stayed with the club for the rest of the season, with United not forgetting the defensive midfielder.

When things looked like it was going south with the Ugarte deal, Andre’s name resurfaced, with the club strongly considering opening conversations for a deal.

However, Andre is now set to be moving to Wolverhampton Wanderers as confirmed by Fabrizio Romano.

Brazilian publication Ge Global have reported that the deal has been agreed for €22 million with a further €3 million in bonuses.

It’s understood that the midfielder is set to travel to England this week to undertake his medical assessment ahead of completing his move.

  • Manchester United set to sign midfield wonderkid tomorrow

    Manchester United

Manchester United have done a great job this summer with signing some incredible talent to their academy, with the phrase “wonderkid” being used for a number of the top class youngsters.

It all started with Silva Mexes at the start of the summer who is already showing his skill, netting an impressive strike against Bayern Munich in the Under-15s Elite Cup yesterday.

After Mexes came James Overy and Cameron Mpofu, however the truly impressive trio have been Chido Obi-Martin, Samuel Lusale and Sekou Kone.

With all three, the deals are already completed, however the delay in the individuals joining the Red Devils sits with the Premier League. The league need to approve of the transfers between club academies, with Obi-Martin and Lusale coming from Arsenal and Crystal Palace respectively.

However, Loic Tanzi, a journalist for L’Equipe, as commented on X that tomorrow will see Kone moving to Old Trafford.

The 18-year-old started drawing attention from top clubs thanks to his performances in the Under-17s World Cup in Indonesia last year.

Representing his national side, he help Mali achieve a third place finish, being a vital part of the team’s midfield.

For a lot of the summer RedBull Salzburg were the front runners, and it looked like they would be the ones to sign the star. Kone would have followed a long line of Mali internationals who had joining the Swiss side, including Soumaïla Diabaté, Mamady Diambou, Gaoussou Diakité, Daouda Guindo, Dorgeles Nene and Moussa Yeo.

The deal for Kone is understood to be €1.5 million with a series of bonuses based on his professional appearances.

Last week it was reported that the Malian wonderkid would be travelling to complete his medical exam some time this week and now, tomorrow seems to be the day he’ll be becoming a Red Devil.

  • Manchester United’s name being used by agents of three superstars

In an exciting turn of events, as is always expected in the final week of the transfer market, Manchester United have been linked, seemingly out of nowhere, with three new targets.

What started as a potential double swap deal, Chelsea were offering Ben Chilwell and Raheem Sterling in a trade for Jadon Sancho. The two stars are out of favour with new manager Enzo Maresca so are facing a quite season at Stamford Bridge if they stay with the club.

News has now broken that United aren’t looking to continue with conversations for Chilwell, however a move for Sterling is one that new sporting director Dan Ashworth is in favour of.

Elsewhere, with struggles up top with Rasmus Hojlund out injured and new signing Joshua Zirkzee fitting into the squad, The Red Devils have also been linked with Brentford striker Ivan Toney.

Toney’s been linked with United for some time, however the club didn’t look to be acting on anything, until this week.

However, Daily Mail journalist Mike Keegan believes there’s more to these deals than what is being reported.

With United having just signed Manuel Ugarte from PSG, marking the successful purchase of their top summer target, Keegan believes there is very little left in The Red Devils transfer budget.

As a result, the journalist suggests that these links are merely using Manchester United’s name as a bit of a ruse to try and draw out genuine interest in the players.

With transfer deadline day looming, clubs and agents are naturally going to be getting desperate to line up deals for their wantaway stars, so this could be a genuine tactic to make that happen.

  • Manchester United agree deal for Jadon Sancho sale

Jadon Sancho’s time at Manchester United is seemingly over.

The former Manchester City man is set to end his time at Old Trafford as another player is set to leave in this transfer window.

But Sancho would be the most high profile exit from the club since Cristiano Ronaldo.

Just like Ronaldo, Sancho fell out with manager Erik ten Hag last season and the writing has seemingly been on the wall ever since.

Borussia Dortmund came in to take Sancho on loan last season, but have been unable to put a deal in place for a longer term agreement for the player.

It was, in fact, from Dortmund that Manchester United brought the England attacker.

After being pursued by the club for two seasons, Sancho finally arrived in Manchester in 2021 for a fee around £73m.

But it hasn’t been smooth sailing since he’s been here.

Jadon Sancho has only shown flashes of his skill and potential while at Old Trafford, as he’s failed to truly shine under the different managers he’s played under.

And it seems that his career is now set to continue away from England.

French journalist Fabrice Hawkins has revealed that an agreement has been reached between Manchester United and Juventus for the England attacker.

The agreement is believed to be an initial loan with an obligation to buy.

Jadon Sancho himself is said to be keen on the move.

Juventus have just told Federico Chiesa to Liverpool and will likely want Sancho is a direct replacement for him.

Juve have looked to reinforce their midfield this summer and spent big on Teun Koopmeiners from Atalanta.

Bringing in Jadon Sancho is another statement signing for the club looking to make an impression under new head coach Thiago Motta.

  • Serie A giants set to submit first offer for Manchester United attacker

    Erik ten Hag

Despite an impressive overhaul of the squad this summer, Manchester United are still not done with only a few days left of the transfer window.

The Red Devils have made impressive signings in Joshua Zirkzee, Leny Yoro, Matthijs de Ligt and Noussair Mazraoui, without giving in to extortionate transfer demands, with Manuel Ugarte currently in Manchester to complete his move.

Outward bound though, United have managed to part ways with a number of squad members who, for want of a better phrase, are surplus to requirement. Serial loanees Donny van de Beek and Hannibal Mejbri have been offloaded, with reserve stars Willy Kambwala, Facundo Pellistri and Alvaro Carreras also sold on. Not to mention the big name sales of Mason Greenwood and Aaron Wan-Bissaka, with academy graduates Will Fish and Maxi Oyedele also moving on.

Scott McTominay is also on is way out to Napoli, with his medical assessment being booked any day now, whilst United are still determined to sell Jadon Sancho.

Now, reports from Italy claim that Juventus are about to submit their first offer for Sancho after being interested in the winger since January.

According to Gianluca Di Marzio the Old Lady are looking to submit their first official offer for the England international in the coming hours.

The bid is reportedly for a loan deal with a request for United to continue paying some of Sancho’s salary which costs a total of £14.3 million a year.

It’s not sure how United are going to respond, with the Premier League club wanting a permanent move for Sancho rather than a temporary one.

United were looking to only agree if the loan offer had an obligation to buy, however this isn’t the preference of Juve.

The Old Lady are closing in on a sale of Frederico Chiesa to Liverpool, with the pair agreeing a four year contract according to Fabrizio Romano.

It’s been reported previously that Juve’s pursuit of Sancho hinges entirely on the sale of Chiesa, so this progress in Liverpool’s deal for the winger could be the catalyst for Juventus’ upcoming initial bid.

  • Manchester United now initiate talks for veteran Premier League striker – report

    Erik ten Hag

According to a latest report from Standard Sport, Manchester United have held initial talks over a late deal for Ivan Toney, but securing a move to Chelsea remains the forward’s priority ahead of Friday’s transfer deadline.

Toney has made clear that he hopes to leave Brentford before the window shuts and the Bees face being forced to settle for a deal some way below their initial £50million asking price, or else risk losing the England international for nothing next summer.

Chelsea are considering making an offer as Enzo Maresca looks to add a new striker to the club’s glut of summer signings, while Saudi Arabian outfit Al-Ahli have had an initial bid rejected.

However, Standard Sport now reports there have also been preliminary conversations between United and Brentford over a potential deal.

The report adds that negotiations are not yet at a serious stage and the Old Trafford club are yet to make a formal offer, but Brentford are hopeful that any interest could drive a bidding war with Chelsea that would see them secure around £40m for Toney.

The 28-year-old has been left out of Thomas Frank’s squad for the first two Premier League games of the season and the club are concerned about the effect of reintegrating him into the group.

  • Video: Silva Mexes scores wonder goal against Bayern Munich

    Silva Mexes

Silva Mexes has had quite the summer.

The 14-year-old officially joined Manchester United in May and has already made himself at home in Manchester.

Robert Earnshaw’s son came into United with a lot of fanfare due to his father’s football past.

But young Mexes is looking to create some of his own legacy and is seemingly taking some steps towards doing just that.

CLICK HERE TO JOIN THE CENTRE DEVILS WHATSAPP GROUP CHAT NOW!

Silva Mexes has this week been part of a Manchester United under-15s squad playing in the Elite Cup.

Hosted at the FC Bayern Campus, the competition brings together under-15 sides from some of Europe’s biggest clubs.

United were joined by the likes of Liverpool, Inter Milan, Porto and, of course, Bayern Munich.

In a game against Bayern’s under-15s, Mexes scored an absolute worldie.

Running onto a ball over the top, the forward lobs it over the onrushing goalkeeper.

That was just the first player he got past.

In a piece of skill reminiscent of Paul Gascoigne’s goal against Scotland in UEFA Euro 1996, Mexes then flicks it off the top of a defender looking to get back for cover.

Finally, with the keeper now rushing to make up lost ground, Mexes chests the ball down and lobs it over the head of a defender getting onto the goal line.

It was truly a top class goal.

If Silva Mexes scores more goals like that, then he’s going to go a long way in his career.

Even if he doesn’t ever repeat a goal like that again, he’s shown that he has the skill to succeed in the game.

Manchester United fans will be keeping a close eye on his development in the near future.

Because there’s a star in the making on their books, if the club handle his progress properly.

  • Dwight Yorke sends warning to Manchester United forward

    Dwight Yorke

Dwight Yorke had a truly brilliant spell during his four years at Manchester United between 1998 and 2002.

In this time he played 152, netting 66 goals with 32 assists, helping the squad to win the Champions League, three consecutive Premier League titles, the FA Cup and an Intercontinental Cup.

He also won two Golden Boots in the 1998/99 in the Premier League and Champions League, so he knows a thing or two about scoring goals.

So, the Trinidad and Tobago international will be hoping that his advice and warning to one of United’s key attackers will not fall on deaf ears.

Much criticism has fallen on Marcus Rashford of late, with the winger failing to register a shot on target in the two games he’s player this season.

Alan Shearer raised his issue with the 26-year-old after his only shot this weekend was ruled offside, saying: “He’s not a youngster anymore. He has to understand the position and look across the pitch when you can see the whole of it, you shouldn’t be offside then,”

Dwight Yorke sends warning to Marcus Rashford

Speaking to talkSPORT via The Daily Mirror, Yorke defended Rashford, talking about the mindset of the attacker, saying: “You have to find out where the individual is at, what is going through his head, what is his thought process in his everyday life.”

He continued: “At the end of the day, we all have issues, we all have tough times in our lives.

“I am sure that being left out of the England set-up last year, you expect him to come back with a little bit of fire in his belly and kick on after a poor season by his standards.

“Marcus Rashford is the only person who can get himself out of that slump.”

He continued his warning for Rashford, saying that the winger is the only person who can fix his performances, adding: “You can bring in the best coaches around him, but he has to have that burning desire to get himself back.”

He continued: “We know he has all the talent and all the ability.

“But if he is not prepared to put that effort in and really bring himself back from his poorest season last year, he is not going to get back to that level. He has to want to do it.

“I have defended Marcus many times, but he just seems unhappy. For whatever reason I don’t know, but just does not seem to be enjoying his football like he used to.”

It has been reported however, that Rashford is in fact taking on extra one-to-one training sessions with new coach and striking legend Ruud van Nistelrooy.

With United taking on Liverpool this weekend, it’s a massive game for the Red Devils with their rivals already registering two wins, so Rashford will need to tap into his previous scoring ways if he wants to silence the critics.

  • Troy Deeney tips Raheem Sterling as a great transfer for Manchester United

    Troy Deeney

Right now a lot of former players-turned-pundits are raising concerns around Manchester United, or at least, certain United stars.

Alan Shearer has recently criticised Marcus Rashford for his lack of shots this season and his positional awareness for his only registered shot on goal being offside.

Dwight Yorke has also issued comments to Rashford, peaking about the player’s mindset and how he needs to get himself out of this slump to prove the critics wrong.

Elsewhere Rio Ferdinand has spoken out slamming United for the sale of Scott McTominay, saying that he feels United are going to feel the affects of his absence.

Now, with much speculation of United looking at a deal to swap Jadon Sancho with Raheem Sterling, former striker Troy Deeney has issued his thoughts on the current class of Red Devil wingers and how Sterling could impact the squad.

Speaking to Sky Sports being asked if Sterling would be a good move for United, Deeney said: “He’s better than anything they’ve got there, so yeah.”

He continued: “At the moment he’s delivering more than what Marcus [Rashford] is doing. He probably gives more of a leadership role to the likes of [Alejandro] Garnacho and Amad [Diallo] who scored on the weekend.

“So those guys will look at Raheem, see that he’s won it at [Manchester] City, see what he’s done at Liverpool, see what he’s done at the international stage and think ‘right I can learn of that’.”

Deeney went on to discuss the team as a whole after their 2-1 defeat at Brighton. Speaking about the squad, the former Watford striker said: “So I think United fans will probably look at it as an improvement cause at the moment when I watched United I thought they did ok at the weekend [against Brighton].”

He continued: “I thought they lacked one or two bits, if they can get Luke Shaw back at left-back then that gives a completely different dynamic and then they need a striker which is why I’m baffled that they aren’t going for Ivan Toney personally.

“I think it’s a quick fix like the [Robin] van Persie one, you just plop him in and it works.

“And for right now, I just think they need a winger, I don’t think Marcus is delivering and the other guys, well Antony’s nothing, I don’t mean that disrespectfully, but they’re not offering nothing like they should do for a team like Man United.”

These concerns, especially around the lack of strike options were also voiced by former United captain Roy Keane, concerned the club don’t have a prolific goal scorer.

However, with a considerable amount of focus on Rashford of late, he’ll be hoping that his one-to-one sessions with Ruud van Nistelrooy, aiming make him more clinical in front of goal, will kickstart his goal scoring ways sooner rather than later.
