  • ENTERTAINMENT: Kenny Brandmuse Reveals He Is A Gay

Today Kenny Brandmuse has revealded he is a gay, read his facebook post below:
When I first told my ex-wife that I was gay, we were far from being married. I wanted her to find other men honorably, who had a thing for women. I never did. I ‘swear down.’ I was only obeying the popular demand of traditions. Now, this was my terrible mistake. No one should live their life based on dogmas and other people’s expectations. As far as I could remember, even though I was always dating girls, I had always preferred being with a man. I had fought it with every fiber of spirituality in me as a Pentecostal preacher boy (find details and journeys in my book ‘THE EXODUS.’) The more I fought my sexual preference for men, the more I became more miserable. Unfortunately, as erroneously believed, sex wasn’t the problem. I had been having sex with women as far back as a twelve-year-old. Sexuality is whom we are emotionally present with, not whom we are sleeping with. And oh boy, she really tried to make me a heterosexual. But I'm still not, sadly.

One of those pre-marriage days, while we were with our marriage counseling team, I brought up the issue again – that I had always had a preference for men. I wanted the Ministers to dissuade her from the marriage. I just couldn’t put a ring on a fat big lie. My father taught me one principle: DIE FOR YOUR OWN TRUTH, EVEN IF IT'S UNPOPULAR, BUT DON'T HARM OTHERS WITH IT. She was so happy to tell the ministers, as quickly as she could, that my feelings for men would all be gone, because she believed it was a childhood disorder. I guess she meant she was going to fck my brains into heterosexuality. This is a mistake a lot of us make. We all want to change people to conform to our preferences. We find it easier to play god in the lives of people we did not make.

After six years together, I knew I was not getting any better. I STILL LOVED MEN. And one day, because I didn’t want to cheat on her, I humbly asked her that we should go our separate ways. That was when all hell broke loose. She suddenly forgot about how it all started. In court, she told the Judge how she suddenly found out that I was gay, and how it’s against the Law of the Federal Republic of Nigeria. In other words, she wanted me sentenced to the new 14 years jail term served by the Nigerian government. Luckily, I was in a civil court. Sadly, that day, I had to duck my face in shame as the crowd jeered at me for being whom I had always been. 'You faggot' 'Oh what a shameful man!' 'homo!' 'Na wa o ' I still don’t know how I walked out of the court premises that day. ( this case is still ongoing) What about my business.? Tell any client in Nigeria that you are gay, and you lose their business. That’s exactly what happened. I lost friends, businesses, sponsorships and family members. I had to start my life all again. Applied for a new job. Get back to school. Although my ex-wife is one of the most faithful and beautiful women in Nigeria, she is a victim of institutionalized homophobia. Just like many people who are reading this.

It will be exactly a year today, when Nigeria instituted a law to jail people like me. What’s our offense? Because we are simply wired differently. There are only about 5 to 10% of homosexuals in every population as cited by popular findings and documents. Why is a 90% dominant population afraid of its 10%? Shouldn’t you care about us? Don’t you think it’s a lot easier to be seen as part of the 90%? And before you throw those religious verses on us for being wired differently, I want to leave you with my favorite Bible verses from Romans 8:Italics mine:

That Nothing Can Separate Us from ( the universal narrative of ) God’s Love
31 What shall we say about such wonderful things as these? If God is for us, who can ever be against us? 32 Since he did not spare even his own Son ( in the popular narratives according to the Christian Faith ) but gave him up for us all, won’t he also give us everything else? 33 Who dares accuse us whom God has chosen for his own? No one—for God himself has given us right standing with himself. 34 Who then will condemn us? No one…

38 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[b] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. 39 No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in ( in the narrative of ) Christ Jesus our Lord.

  • HEALTH: World Most Deadliest Diseases Ebola Is Just a Least.

    By Lizzy Adie

Though Ebola is certainly a terrible disease, other diseases once held a spot as the most terrifying diseases for their time.

Ebola Virus: Ebola is currently raging through West Africa at an unstoppable pace. Since March 2014, when the first cases of the virus were reported, it has gone on to infect over 6,300 people of whom 3,083 are now dead. It is suspected that the disease can infect 1.4 million by January 2015 if health experts do not figure out a way to control it.

Smallpox: this little fella has been around for at least 10,000 years until the disease, according to the World Health Organization, was eradicated in 1976. It is estimated that 300 million people died of Smallpox in the 20th century, but the really big downside is that its unlikely the disease has been eradicated and, even if it has, the Russians and the USA refuse to destroy their smallpox stocks in case of a bio-terrorist incident, what ever that means.

Sars: Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome as it’s hilariously referred to; Not only just ten years old, this is the youngest of our viruses, though no less aggressive. It could be argued that if the Chinese authorities had alerted the WHO immediately, i.e., not virtually ignoring it for three months, it wouldn’t have been the pandemic it became. Within a few week of its outbreak, SARS has spread to 37 countries, 4 cases in the UK infecting over 8,098 people and killing 774 of them.

Tuberculosis: usually attacking the lungs. This disease is spread by airborne saliva. The classic symptoms of active tuberculosis infection are a chronic cough with blood-tinged sputum, fever, night sweats, and weight loss.

Influenza: Commonly known as Flu, Influenza is usually transmitted through the air like tuberculosis but sometimes through direct contact with contaminated surfaces, since the virus can be inactivated by soap, however, frequent hand washing reduces the risk of infection.

Diarrhoea: A common cause of death in third world countries and the second most common cause of infants death worldwide. The loss of fluid through diarrhoea can cause dehydration and electrolyte disturbance such as potassium deficiency or other salt imbalance.

  • TECHNOLOGY: Microsoft No '1' Man Drinks Water Gotten From Human Faeces

    By Eyo Ene-Okon

Bill Gates has drunk a glass of water distilled from human faeces, to showcase an advanced technology that could provide clean water to the developing world.

The Microsoft founder, Mr Gates said he wanted to begin sending processing plants around the world after tests later this year.

The project was welcomed by WaterAid, which said that it could particularly be of aid to most urban areas in critical economic conditions,

According to the charity, some 748 million people worldwide lack clean drinking water.

In a video posted on his blog, Mr Gates watched as the human waste was fed into the processor, before drinking the end product from a glass.

    ‘Sewer sludge’
“The water tasted as good as any I’ve had out of a bottle. And having studied the engineering behind it, I would happily drink it every day. It’s that safe,” he wrote in the blogpost.
In the video, the developer of the Omniprocessor system, Peter Janicki, says the raw “sewer sludge” is first boiled, during which process the water vapour is separated from the solids.
Those solids are then put into a fire, producing steam that drives an engine producing electricity for the system’s processor and for the local community.
The water is put through a cleaning system to produce drinking water.
“Why would anyone want to turn waste into drinking water and electricity?” Mr Gate asked.
The answer, he wrote, was because “diseases caused by poor hygiene conditions kills an average of 700,000 children every year, and they others, contribute to diverse growth adnomalities”.
He added: “If we can develop safe, affordable ways to get rid of human waste, we can prevent many of those deaths and help more children in critical economic situations grow up healthy.”

  • NEWS: Shell Pays Ogoni 15 Billion Over Oil Spillage

    By Dickson Blessing

Shell Development Company has been driven to make an out of court settlement of about 15 billion (£55 million) as a compensation to Ogoni people based on a legal action in the United Kingdom after six years of oil spills which  destroyed thousands of livelihood in Bodo area of Ogoni land.

The two oil spills took place at Bodo in 2008, first in August and the second in December from Shell pipelines, but the company denied responsibility for the spills.

Amnesty International said in a statement on Tuesday that the organisation and Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Development (CEHRD) have worked on the Bodo spills case since 2008 trying to secure compensation and clean-up for the community.

In 2011, the people of Bodo, represented by UK law firm, Leigh Day, began court proceedings in the UK against the Shell Petroleum Development Company of Nigeria.

Although, Shell had always blamed the illegal activity of the Niger Delta as a core reason for the pollution, its claims have been discredited in research by Amnesty International and CEHRD.

The out-of – court settlement the £55million will be split as £35m for 15,600 individuals and £20m for the community.
“While the pay-out is a long-awaited victory for the thousands of people who lost their livelihoods in Bodo, it shouldn’t have taken six years to get anything close to fair compensation,” Mr. Audrey Gaughran, Director of Global Issues at Amnesty International, said in the statement.
“In effect, Shell knew that Bodo was an accident waiting to happen. It took no effective action to stop it, then it made false claims about the amount of oil that had been spilt. If Shell had not been forced to disclose this information as part of the UK legal action, the people of Bodo would have been completely swindled,” he added.

Throughout this time, many Bodo residents who lost their livelihood in the ongoing spill have had to live with the ongoing pollution without compensation.
Styvn Obodoekwe, Director of Programmes of the Centre for Environment, Human Rights and Development (CEHRD) said  “The compensation is a step towards justice for the people of Bodo, but justice will be fully achieved when Shell properly cleans up the heavily polluted creeks and swamps so that those who rely on fishing and farming for their income can begin to rebuild their livelihoods”.
  • Politics: Shell Agrees to Pay Compensation

    By Efio-Ita Nyok

The Royal Dutch Shell has agreed to the sum of $84m to the worst hit and grieving people of Bodo in the Ogoni Land of the Nigeria's Niger Delta region.

This legal suit by 15,600 fishermen community of the said Niger Delta area is said to be prompted by the oil spill of 2008 & 2009.

Mitiu Sunmonu the Managing Director of the oil firm is said to explain that the oil spill is caused by operational failure of the pipelines. According to him: 'From the outset, we have accepted responsibility for the two deeply regrettable oil spills in Bodo'.

Leigh Day is the law firm that has represented the Bodo community for the six years. According to Lawyer Martin Day of the law firm, it took Shell six years to recognise the extent of  damage.

This environmental damage has caused untold hardship to the Bodo community. Health wise, it inflicts headaches and eyesores.

Economically, it affect the means of livelihood of this mainly fishing and farming community.

Each member of the community is expected to received $3300 as individual compensation. The $30m left over will go into the purse of the community worst hit environmentally.
