  • Manhwa debut: Chapter 115

You must be aware of the gigantic and ferocious dragons from the Game of Thrones universe. Well, Kamish, a mighty dragon similar to the GOT ones, emerged from the first-ever S-Rank gate that spawned on Earth, more precisely on the West Coast of the US, almost eight years ago. Hence, this automatically made Kamish the first S-Rank magical beast boss faced by humanity in the world of Solo Leveling.

The Ant King killed around eight Japanese S-Rank hunters on Jeju Island. In comparison, Kamish is said to have massacred over 100 S-Rank hunters whom America gathered after the S-Rank dungeon break and promised to shower them with lavish rewards in return. The dragon, along with the S-Rank hunters, annihilated the entire West Coast with its people. That is why Kamish is still considered the “Greatest Calamity of Humanity.”

The remaining five S-Rank hunters teamed together and slayed the monstrous dragon to save humanity. In recognition of their victory, these hunters went on to become National Level Hunters, having authority similar to a nation’s in the story. The Americans enshrined Kamish’s body and put up a headquarters for the Federal Bureau of Hunters (FBH) on top of the dragon’s corpse.

  • Manhwa Debut: Chapter 142

Years later, Jinwoo gets clearance from FBH to see the corpse of humanity’s greatest calamity. As we already know by now, our hero never lets go of the body of a mighty adversary to waste, so Jinwoo is seen using his Shadow Extraction ability to add Kamish’s shadows to his army.

After two consecutive tries, Kamish gets resurrected as Master Jinwoo’s shadow in manhwa chapter 142. Kamish begins to share his history with Jinwo, where he confirms he was one of the servants of Antares, one of the many Monarchs in Solo Leveling. The Monarch of Destruction is also known as the King of Dragons, so understandably, one of the greatest dragons humankind has ever seen used to work for the king.

When the Monarch and the Rulers clashed for the first time, Kamish was apprehended by the rulers and they placed an essence stone inside him. Later, it was revealed that essence stones were used as the main source of energy for FBH’s headquarters.

Kamish was easily one of Jinwoo’s strongest shadows, but the dragon couldn’t continue to live as he began to disintegrate into pieces soon after this resurrection. This is because Jinwoo revived him as a shadow after the dragon had been dead for a long time.

As Kamish was slowly disintegrating, he regretted that he could not serve his new master and informed Jinwoo about the humans with Rulers’ powers. Unfortunately, Kamish faded away after being a shadow for a short period in Solo Leveling.

Solo Leveling Kamish: Powers and Abilities

Kamish, also known as “The Inextinguishable Flame,” truly lived up to his moniker and destroyed many human lives, including the killing of hundreds of S-Rank hunters. Thus, Kamish is one of the deadliest magical beasts ever encountered in the Solo Leveling world. If you are wondering about the dragon’s powers, we have listed all of Kamish’s abilities here:

  • Unparalleled Strength and Resilience: Kamish was a massive dragon who was gifted with incredible strength and durability.
  • Dragon’s Breath: Unlike any other dragon, Kamish had the power to unleash powerful fire blasts, which earned him the nickname – The Inextinguishable Flame.
  • Dragon’s Fear: This was a special ability where Kamish could channel a roar infused with mana. This powerful roar could put the weak hunters (even allies) in a hopeless and dreadful state.

After the death of Kamish, his corpse was used to forge powerful weapons and skills in the Solo Leveling world. They are:

  • Kamish’s Runestone: This runestone possessed the Dragon’s Fear skill and Sung Jinwoo later breaks the stone to inherit this skill.
  • Kamish’s Wrath: Thomas Andre was bitten by Kamish in the battle. He collected the razor-sharp fangs and made daggers using them. These daggers are one of the strongest weapons created and were later gifted to Sung Jinwoo by Andre.
  • Kamish’s Essence Stone: The essence stone implanted inside Kamish is being used as the energy source for FBH’s HQ.

That’s all you need to know about Kamish, the dragon who almost destroyed the United States. I wish we got to see more of him as Sung Jinwoo’s shadow. However, the Solo Leveling fandom is madly awaiting the day when Kamish’s story will be adapted in the third season of Solo Leveling. Until then, let us know your thoughts about Kamish in the comments below.
