Vivo V50 Lite 5G Launched with Dimensity 6300 chip and 6,500mAh Battery

The Vivo V50 series keeps growing. Earlier this week, Vivo took the wraps off the Vivo V50 Lite 4G. Now, the company is presenting the 5G name, which simply replaces the 4G with 5G in its name. The Vivo V50 Lite 5G comes as a solid midrange smartphone with premium look. It has a huge 6,500 mAh battery which is great considering the Vivo V-series past. It has 90W fast charging and much more. Let’s see its specifications below.

Vivo V50 Lite 5G Specifications

Under the hood, the Vivo V50 Lite 5G replaces the Snapdragon 685 on the 4G with a newer MediaTek Dimensity 6300 SoC. The new chipset brings 5G connectivity and is more efficient. It is paired with 8 GB or 12 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 256 GB or 512 GB of UFS 2.2 storage. Curiously, there is no micro SD card slot. However, if we consider that the smartphone starts with 256 GB of storage, the less exigent users won’t miss the storage expansion.

The new smartphone also brings Bluetooth 5.4 instead of the 5.0 version seen in the 4G variant. Vivo didn’t list the Wi-Fi specs, but we presume it offers support for Wi-Fi 5 (AC). It’s the latest offered by the 6300 and is the same seen in the 4G variant.

Going to the display, the Vivo V50 Lite 5G flaunts a 6.77-inch OLED screen. It has a Full HD+ resolution with up to 1,800 nits peak brightness and Full HD+ resolution. There is an optical fingerprint reader underneath and a 32 MP selfie camera with a punch-hole cutout at the center.

The Vivo’s V50 Lite 5G comes with a dual-camera setup at the back. The main camera is a 50 MP Sony IMX882 shooter, and there is also an 8 MP ultrawide snapper. It also has Aura Light, which for those unaware is a ring flash that sits below the two camera modules. There is a 32 MP camera for selfies and video calls.

A Powerful Battery and Durable Build

The V50 Lite 5G draws power from a massive 6,500 mAh battery that Vivo says will keep 80% of its capacity after 5 years of use. The company states it lasts 10.5 hours of gaming. The charging speed is set at 90W which brings 100% charge in under 53 minutes. This capacity is a nice development for the Vivo V-series. After all, in the past, the company had to sacrifice capacity for the traditional sleekness of this series. Now, however, the capacity is feasible thanks to the new technologies.

The smartphone is rated IP65 dust-tight and able to resist water splashes. It also premises real-life survivability against corner drops. The phone misses a 3.5mm audio jack, but comes with stereo speakers for immersive audio experience.

Pricing and Availability

The vivo V50 Lite 5G is now available in Spain for €400 (12GB RAM / 512GB storage). The phone sells in Vivo’s online store in Titanium Gold and Phantom Black. Additional color options, Fantasy Purple (with a feather-like texture) and Silk Green will launch shortly.

With this smartphone, the Vivo V50 series keeps growing. We are curious to see if more variants will appear in the future. While the company updates the market with new mid-ranges, the anticipation for its upcoming Vivo X200 Ultra keeps growing. We are excited to see what Vivo has in tow for the coming months.
