As the world becomes more conscious of the potential harm posed by traditional hair straightening methods, entrepreneurs are stepping up to provide safer and healthier alternatives. One such innovator is Nery Monay, the founder of Monay Hair Cryotherapy, a groundbreaking business that combines cryotherapy and nanotechnology to offer a revolutionary hair straightening solution without any harmful chemicals or fumes.

For years, Nery Monay struggled with frizzy, tangled, and unmanageable hair. Building a successful brand from the ground up is no easy feat, and Monay faced several challenges along the way. Harris taps Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz for VP

Minnesota last backed a Republican for president in 1972, when it supported President Richard Nixon’s reelection.

    By Ben Whedon

Vice President Kamala Harris has tapped Gov. Tim Walz, D-Minn., to serve as her running mate, multiple news outlets have reported.

I am proud to announce that I’ve asked [Tim Walz] to be my running mate,” Harris confirmed in an X post. “As a governor, a coach, a teacher, and a veteran, he’s delivered for working families like his. It’s great to have him on the team.”

“It is the honor of a lifetime to join [Kamala Harris] in this campaign. I’m all in,” Walz said in his own statement. “Vice President Harris is showing us the politics of what’s possible. It reminds me a bit of the first day of school.”

Walz took office in 2019 and emerged as the preferred candidate of the Democrats’ progressive wing to serve as Harris vice president, USA Today reported.

Minnesota last backed a Republican for president in 1972, when it supported President Richard Nixon’s reelection. The state has nonetheless, however, become more competitive in recent cycles and Republicans have begun to campaign there with more fervor.

Former President Donald Trump and Sen. JD Vance, R-Ohio, held a joint campaign rally in late July in St. Cloud.

Harris and her running mate are expected to appear at a rally in Philadelphia later on Tuesday evening.

  • Fugitive known as 'The Devil' captured in Mexico after 20 years on the run

BUTLER COUNTY, Ohio (TCN) — A man who has been on the run from law enforcement for 20 years and was once profiled on “America’s Most Wanted” was located and arrested in Mexico last week.

The U.S. Marshals Service announced Aug. 1 that Antonio Riano, who was wanted for allegedly shooting and killing 25-year-old Benjamin Becarra in 2004, was found in Zapotitlan Palmas in the Mexican state of Oaxaca. Riano was reportedly working as a police officer in his hometown when marshals and Mexican police forces took him into custody.

Following his arrest, he was flown to Cincinnati and taken to the Butler County Jail, where he is in custody on two counts of murder and one count of felonious assault.

According to WKRC-TV, Riano and Becarra reportedly got into a fight at a bar on Dec. 19, 2004. Video footage allegedly showed Riano pull out a gun and shoot Becarra in the face during the dispute. Investigators learned Riano bought bullets at Walmart that same day, and that the gun believed to be used in the killing was discovered at his home under the floorboards.

Butler County court records show Riano was indicted on Feb. 14, 2005. The U.S. Marshals allege Riano fled the country to avoid prosecution.

WKRC reports Riano was previously given the moniker “El Diablo” or “The Devil.” A local news station in Mexico reportedly asked him why he worked as a police officer, and he responded, “I wanted to help the people of Mexico.”

Prior to his arrest, Riano was added to the Butler County Sheriff’s Office Most Wanted list. His case was also featured on a 2005 episode of “America’s Most Wanted.”

U.S. Marshal for the Southern District of Ohio Michael Black told WKRC, “In every violent crime, there’s a victim. We want to bring closure to this case and give that family some peace, knowing that we didn’t stop and that we kept looking for this violent fugitive and were able to catch him and bring him back.”

  • Fact Check: Photo of Israeli swimmers predates the Paris Games

An image of swimmers spelling out the words “bring them home” — a rallying cry for people seeking the return of hostages taken by Hamas — predates the Paris Olympics.

But several recent Facebook posts connected the image to the Summer Games nevertheless.

“The Israeli team was not allowed to wear the ‘Bring Them Home’ pins at the Olympic Games, so they decided to relay their message in a different way,” the July 29 post said.

It was flagged as part of Meta’s efforts to combat false news and misinformation on its News Feed. (Read more about our partnership with Meta, which owns Facebook and Instagram.)

Photographer Adam Spiegel, who describes himself on Instagram as a fine art aerial photographer, created the image with another photographer, Michel Braunstein, and shared it Nov. 18 on Instagram, more than a month after Hamas’ attacked Israel Oct. 7 and took more than 200 hostages..

The Israel Ministry of Foreign Affairs shared the photographers’ image a day later on Facebook.

“A beautiful tribute by Israel’s national artistic swimming team in tribute to the 240 hostages being held by Hamas terrorists in Gaza. We will not stop until each and every one of them are brought home,” the post said, crediting Spiegel and Braunstein.

The Israeli artistic swimming team also shared the image on Instagram that day.

The caption, translated on Instagram from Hebrew to English, said:

“The Israel artistic swimming team was photographed this weekend at the National Pool at Wingate Institute for a special photo in honor of the repatriation of the hostages to Israel. Ten female athletes participated in the photographs taken from a drone and underwater. … The athletes demanded through the images to pass a message: ‘Like the whole country, we are also waiting and hoping that all the kidnapped will return home quickly. We decided to film this tribute in hopes of raising awareness of the crimes against humanity committed against Israelis and against citizens from many countries.’”

The caption doesn’t mention the Olympics.

It’s also clear that the image shows not one photo, but several; there are nearly 60 bodies in the image and the exact photo of some letters that appear more than once — such as the N in “bring” and “now” — are used multiple times.

The Israeli Olympic Committee didn’t respond to PolitiFact’s questions about the post. But a representative for the committee told Agence France-Presse that athletes were advised not to wear yellow ribbon-shaped pins to raise awareness about the hostages. The guidance was given “as part of the pre-ruling held a few months ago by the (International Olympic Committee), even though it is a first-rate humanitarian issue,” a spokesperson for the group told Agence France-Presses.

Demonstrations and political propaganda, including clothing and accessories, are not allowed at Olympic sites, venues or other areas, according to the Olympic Charter.

Spiegel, who also didn’t respond to PolitiFact’s questions about the post, told Agence France-Presse that it was “a fake news story.”

  • Mustache Grooming Revolution – The US Times

Revolutionizing the Mustache Grooming Industry with Quality and Innovation

Founded in 2014 by U.S. veteran Derwood Willhite and his wife Megan, Death Grip Wax has evolved from a humble endeavor under the parent brand Vintage Grooming to a thriving business, thanks to the passionate leadership of Levi Harris since November 2019. Combining a sense of humor with unwavering dedication to grooming excellence, Harris has propelled Death Grip Wax to become a leading name in the mustache grooming industry. With an array of high-quality products and a commitment to customer satisfaction, Death Grip Wax continues to redefine what it means to achieve the perfect mustache.

    The Birth of a Legend

Levi Harris, now affectionately known as “@simplystachen” and the USA National Champion for groomed handlebar mustaches, never anticipated becoming “the mustache guy.” It all began as a lighthearted joke when he decided to grow his mustache for Movember. However, as the month progressed, something extraordinary happened—Harris’s mustache seemed to take on a life of its own.

The thick, curly handlebar mustache became a spectacle wherever Harris went, capturing the attention and curiosity of onlookers. Strangers would approach him, intrigued by his striking facial hair. Harris quickly realized that his mustache had become his trademark, a symbol that sparked conversations and brought joy to those around him. Embracing the unexpected attention, he embraced the journey, exclaiming, “The joke just keeps getting bigger!”

    Inspiring Purposeful Grooming

At Death Grip Wax, the power of purposeful grooming takes center stage. The brand’s mission is to inspire and empower men to live purposefully, continuously pursuing their true potential. Recognizing that looking and feeling one’s best plays a pivotal role in achieving success, Death Grip Wax is there to support individuals every step of the way.

Based in the picturesque Woodland Park, Colorado, Death Grip Wax prides itself on unwavering dedication to excellence and a commitment to offering the highest quality grooming products on the market. Their flagship product line, the Death Grip Mustache Waxes, has triumphed in national mustache championships for three consecutive years. This unmatched performance serves as a testament to the brand’s unwavering pursuit of quality, precision, and dedication in every product they create.

From Obscurity to Success: Leveraging Social Media

When Harris acquired Death Grip Wax, the company had minimal name recognition. He knew that spreading the word to potential customers would be crucial, but he faced the challenge of a limited marketing budget. Determined to make an impact, Harris turned to social media as his solution.

Through Death Grip Wax’s Instagram and Facebook pages, Harris began sharing pictures and videos of his own extraordinary handlebar mustache. He also provided grooming tips and advice, engaging with a growing community of facial hair enthusiasts. Collaborating with influencers in the mustache community, Harris offered Death Grip Wax samples in exchange for reviews and shoutouts. This initiative led to the formation of the Death Grip Brotherhood, a thriving online community.

As Death Grip Wax gained traction, Harris faced a new challenge—managing growth. Orders poured in, and he found himself overwhelmed by the demand. To keep up, he expanded his team, invested in new equipment, and secured a larger warehouse in Woodland Park for manufacturing and operations. Prioritizing customer service became his focus, as he recognized the importance of ensuring customer satisfaction. He responded promptly to every email and message, going above and beyond to ensure that every order was shipped quickly and accurately.

Today, Death Grip Mustache Wax stands as the best-known brand in the industry, a testament to Harris’s commitment to quality, social media engagement, and exceptional customer service. Yet, he remains driven to innovate and expand the Death Grip product line, keeping the brand at the forefront of the mustache wax industry.

Expansion and Innovation: A Complete Grooming Experience

Harris’s determination to expand Death Grip’s product line drove the brand to new heights. Recognizing the need to cater to diverse customer preferences, he set out to develop a comprehensive range of mustache grooming products.

Initially, Harris focused on creating new mustache wax formulas with varying hold levels and textures. Over three years, he developed three new waxes: Bare Bones, offering a medium hold for a styled, natural look; Sudden Death, providing a strong hold with easy “no heat” application; and Bone Crusher, delivering extra-strong and firm hold. These additions complemented the original Death Grip Mustache Wax, which featured an extra-strong and extra-tacky hold.

By expanding the range of waxes, Death Grip successfully appealed to a wider customer base with different preferences in hold, texture, and application. This diversification significantly enhanced the brand’s appeal and fostered greater customer loyalty.

Harris didn’t stop at mustache waxes; he also created Night Fury, the first mustache wax remover, and expanded into accessories tailored to mustache grooming needs. Pocket mustache combs, brushes, travel bags, shave soaps, and oils were added to the product line, ensuring a complete grooming experience for mustache enthusiasts. The introduction of these accessories not only boosted sales but also fostered brand loyalty, as customers who purchased Death Grip Mustache Wax products often returned for the accompanying accessories.

Championing the Art of Grooming: The Road to the World Beard and Mustache Championships

Exciting news surrounds Levi Harris, the winner of the 2022 USA National Beard and Mustache Competition for Groomed Mustache. Harris now heads to Germany for the highly anticipated 2023 World Beard and Mustache Championships, representing the United States and Death Grip with pride.
