  • Diamond Ore Dead Rails: Does It Exist and How to Get?

Dead Rails is based on a post-apocalyptic world full of numerous monsters that are after your blood. To survive this ordeal, players need the best weapons and gear. However, like all things in life, it requires cash. One easy way to get cash is by mining ores in the game. While the community is familiar with a few types of ores, recent rumors about Diamond Ore in the game have everyone buzzing. But how true are these claims? If you’re a fellow gamer who wants to know once and for all, this one’s for you. So read on as we unravel the mystery behind diamond ore in Dead Rails and whether it exists or not.

Is There Diamond Ore in Dead Rails?

As of writing this, Dead Rails has only three types of ores in the game: Coal, Silver, and Gold. It has been confirmed that there are no Diamond Ores where you can mine for diamonds. The concept of such a thing is completely fan-based. Unfortunately, many players are showcasing the so-called edited images of blue colored diamond ores in Dead Rails as clickbait.

All the mineral ores in the game can be mined and, as a result, grant you a small mineral nugget alongside a couple of rocks. While Coal ores have black colored coal nuggets protruding from the rock, Silver ones have shiny metallic nuggets, and Gold ones have golden nuggets, as per their name.

    • Silver Ore
    • Gold Ore

Now that you’re completely sure that nothing like a diamond ore is present in the game, you must be aware of the essential tricks to use such ores. If you mine them normally using a Shovel, it’ll require you to land 40 hits to break the ore.

Selecting the Miner class at the tailor present in the game start will give you access to a Pickaxe. Using this tool, you can easily break ores with just a few hits.

Since the community invented the concept of diamond ore, Dead Rails might consider introducing this item in the next update. This would greatly help players save money for buying guns, weapons, and armor.

And now you know if a diamond ore exists in Dead Rails or not. What are your thoughts about introducing this concept in the game in later updates? Let us know in the comments below!

  • Fatal Fury developers say ‘every two months you can expect a new character’ and ‘we are looking to add most [of the Fatal Fury cast]’

Yesterday, there was a grand showcase for Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves on the Evo channel which also contained the reveal of the final launch roster character, Hokutomaru.

During the showcase, there was an opportunity for producer Yasuyuki Oda to sit down and talk about the game along with western SNK representative KrispyKaiser where they mentioned some of the DLC plans for the games.

First, they once again showed the DLC roster for the game’s first season which consists of Andy Bogard, Ken Masters from Street Fighter, Joe Higashi, Chun-Li from Street Fighter and finally Mr. Big from Fatal Fury’s sister series Art of Fighting.

Speaking on the roster, KrispyKaiser noted that “at the type of rate we’re going, every two months you can expect a new character to join the roster” when referring to the first season, though he did not clarify whether this was meant to reflect on future seasons as well.

He also added afterwards that the game is meant to be the quintessential Fatal Fury experience, and while he initially said to expect “all” characters from prior Fatal Fury games to return, he quickly corrected himself to say “possibly”.

This was him relaying what the game’s producer Yasuyuki Oda had said before him, and the correction on Kaiser’s part felt warranted after listening to Oda’s words. My own translation of Oda’s words will follow below.

“We already have a season 2 and season 3 planned and we’re planning to continuously add characters. There are lots of popular characters in the Fatal Fury series and we’re looking to add most of them, so we’re working on that lineup and their development at the moment,” the SNK producer said.

“There are lots of popular characters in the Fatal Fury series and we’re looking to add most of them…” — Yasuyuki Oda

Oda then added “we’re also planning on adding content besides just characters so we hope you’ll stay with us for a long time and enjoy the game.”

The general gist here is that the team is hopeful to add as many of people’s favorite Fatal Fury characters as they can, but are not making any outright promises.

The vibe, though, is that if you’re hoping for any favorites from older Fatal Fury games, odds are very good that they will show up eventually.

It’s already been public knowledge for a while that we’re going to see at least three seasons for the game, but the confidence on developer’s parts that they’re going to add most old favorites suggests there may even be more planned beyond this initial statement.

You can see the full exchange featuring Yasuyuki Oda’s words and KrispyKaiser’s additions at around the 2 hour and 23 minute mark of the Evo showcase archive which we have also embedded for you below.

Based on the “one character every two months” timeline, it’s entirely possible we’ll see Andy in June, Ken in August, Joe in October, Chun-Li in December and Mr. Big in February and then be ready for a second season to launch right around the first game’s anniversary, though this is obviously just speculation at the moment.

Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves will be officially releasing in a few weeks on April 24th and in the mean time, make sure to check out our full move listings for the entire launch roster of the game here at EventHubs.

Now, I already have who I want in the roster, but like Oda himself said, there are lots of popular characters in the Fatal Fury series, so I’m curious to know who all of you want to see join the fray. Let us know in the comments.

  • Re-Watching This Horrifying Death in TLOU Part 2 Has Me Dreading Last of Us Season 2

Even though I didn’t own a PlayStation, I was always deeply invested in Joel and Ellie’s emotional journey from afar. So it was only natural that as soon as I got a PS5, I jumped into TLOU Part 1, and it became one of my favorite games. And while I did have The Last of Us Part 2 with me, it sat in my backlog and collected dust. Call it luck, but I recently reviewed the TLOU 2 PC remastered edition just in time before season 2 of the namesake drops. However, I wasn’t prepared for what came next.

    Heavy Spoiler Warning:

This article contains massive spoilers about a main character’s death in The Last of Us Part 2 and The Walking Dead. Therefore, proceed with caution and we highly recommend you to experience both series first to avoid ruining your intended experience.

Experiencing Joel Miller’s death in the first act of the game was certainly not something I expected. As someone overly fond of the guy, I find myself in distress. Why? Because I’m dreading Joel’s final moments in the upcoming season 2 of The Last of Us TV show.

Losing Joel Felt Personal, but That Was the Point

No matter who you are, anyone stepping into the world of The Last of Us is instantly drawn to Joel Miller. This rugged main character manages to steal the spotlight and win hearts in no time. As such, gamers like me who headed into the second part to play more as Joel were immediately devastated by his gruesome death in the game’s opening act itself. This controversial yet gutsy decision from the creators tore the TLOU fandom apart.

Image Credit: Naughty Dogs (via PlayStation)

Joel’s unexpected demise in The Last of Us Part 2 wrecked me in one more ways than one. However, as I continued to play, I soon started to realize why his death was inevitable. This was a painful yet crucial move to expand the emotional drama thoughtfully and explore the themes of revenge and the cycle of violence from Ellie and Abby’s point of view.

Joel’s Death Still Haunts Me and Season 2 Is About to Twist the Knife

As a hardcore fan of the zombie genre, I have watched and played way too many movies, TV Shows, and video games involving the undead. Unfortunately, that also makes me realize that no character is truly safe in a daring survival horror drama. And even though I did expect a degree of heartbreak while playing The Last of Us Part 2, Joel’s death felt like a sucker punch.

As a ‘central character’ in the series, such a ruthless send-off for Joel hit me way harder than I was ready for and shattered me. Unfortunately, I also have to be logical about this. And if I put my emotions aside for a moment, I will say that killing Joel was the right thing to do and furthered the story.

Joel in The Last of Us season 2
Image Credit: Max (via Warner Bros. Discovery Media Releases)

As someone who finished the game just a week ahead of The Last of Us Season 2 premiere, I’m now haunted by the thought of experiencing Joel’s blood-soaked execution all over again in the live-action format. The debut season of the TLOU TV Show captivated me with the impressive performances of Pedro Pascal (Joel) and Bella Ramsey (Ellie).

Sadly, this isn’t the first time I’ve experienced heartbreak like this. Joel’s tragic end instantly took me back to Glenn Rhee’s horrifying death, which was at the time the most agonizing demise in The Walking Dead history. Just like Joel, he was one of my favorite characters in a zombie drama. Moreover, both the characters were taken out in the most brutal ways, i.e., bludgeoned to death by a golf club and a baseball bat.

Glenn’s death stirred up controversies to the point that some fans stopped watching the show. Joel’s demise also split the gamers’ fandom into two when the game was released. As such, I can already tell that the heart-wrenching ending to Joel’s journey is bound to result in a traumatic experience. However, this time it will be dual-pronged. So while gamers like me will have their wounds reopened, audiences worldwide who see The Last of Us Season 2 are in for a shock (Red Wedding, anyone?).

Joel’s fateful death is expected to occur in the first few episodes of season 2, which kicks off the revenge drama. So, if you’re anything like me, I suggest you grab a big box of tissues and a tub of popcorn to cry and munch away simultaneously.

That said, are you ready for the emotional rollercoaster coming our way? Let us know in the comments below.

  • Next-Gen Chinese Phones To Feature 7,000 mAh Batteries or More

Some Chinese smartphone manufacturers are now incorporating silicon-based batteries as these hybrids possess a greater energy density over conventional lithium-ion batteries. This means that greater energy can be stored by smartphone manufacturers in the same space without having to increase the thickness of the device.

Chinese Smartphones Are Getting Huge Battery Upgrades in 2025

This trend is growing fast. A new report from China says it will continue through 2025. By the end of the year, top Chinese flagship phones could come with 7,000 mAh batteries as the new standard. That’s a big jump from last year’s 6,000 mAh average.

Some phones may go even further. Flagships could hit 7,500 mAh, while some mid-range models might pack in up to 8,000 mAh. One upcoming phone from Honor is rumored to launch with a battery that large in just a few days.

All of this means big changes for battery life. Long gone are the days when your phone barely lasted a day. These larger batteries will easily handle heavy use, even for gamers, streamers, or travelers.

Fast charging is also getting better. Most of these new Chinese phones will support 100W wired charging. Wireless charging will range between 50W and 80W. That means even these bigger batteries won’t take long to charge.

These advancements cumulatively mark an extraordinary increase in the efficiency of smartphone batteries. Cumulatively, with the modern advancements with smartphones, users can depend on the device to last for at least one day under regular usage. Even intensive activities such as multitasking, gaming and video recording will not cause depletion in battery power at an alarming rate.

These upgrades, however, do come with a caveat. Most of these advances are confined to Chinese brands for the time being. Xiaomi, Honor, Vivo, and Oppo seem to be at the forefront of these developments. In the meantime, Samsung, Apple, and Google have yet to adopt silicon battery technology. Their devices are likely to lag in battery life relative to competitors unless they ramp up innovation soon.

To sum it up, 2025 might be the year when battery-related stresses virtually cease to exist – at least for consumers using Chinese smartphones. If you prioritze smartphone longevity, you should start following developments from China this year.

  • Street Fighter may have obscure brick breaking electro-mechanical arcade game to thank for its creation

People draw inspiration from all sorts of different places, but Takashi Nishiyama, the director of the first Street Fighter game released in 1987, had a very specific thing he was trying to re-create in a video game back in the 1980s.

“Back in the day, there was an electro-mechanical arcade machine where you did karate chops to break bricks,” said Takashi Nishiyama, via a Gamest interview that was released the same year as the original Street Fighter game, which was translated by Shmuplations.

While it’s not confirmed that this electro-mechanical arcade unit was The Karate by ESCO Trading Co. Inc., that was released in 1980, it sure seems like what Nishiyama was referring to. Check out The Karate and the original Street Fighter arcade machine side-by-side, pictured below.

The Karate and Street Fighter 1 arcade machines image #1

“I was wondering if you could make that into a video game. That was the genesis of the idea for Street Fighter,” Nishiyama said.

It’s funny to think that such an invention could birth one of the most popular video game series of all time, but inspiration can come from unusual places. Note that the pads and general aesthetics for both machines have some overlap.

It’s well documented that the original Street Fighter’s pressure-sensitive pads were a headache for both Capcom and people who wished to play the game, as they would regularly break, and people were sustaining injuries to their hands while trying to play the game.

At one point during development, the pressure-sensitive pads didn’t have rubber covers, so they made Hiroshi Matsumoto’s hands swell up. Matsumoto served as the designer of the original Street Fighter.

These things resulted in Capcom replacing the pressure-sensitive pads with the famous 6-button layout.

It’s not all sunshine and rainbows when developing a video game, and Street Fighter 1 was no exception, as it took a physical and mental toll on its development staff.

“When you’re the planner for a game, you can’t get angry. You’ve got to always stay level-headed. It’s fine to rage at the program and the hardware. When you get stuck on a development, of course it’s not just anger you feel, but fatigue, too,” said Nishiyama.

“Basically everyone starts to go a little koo-koo. The planner’s job in that situation is to sort of cushion the blow by listening to everyone’s concerns,” he noted.

At that point, Nishiyama is asked if that makes him more stressed out.

“It can get frustrating, yeah. And that’s partly why we made this game, so you could take out your anger on it,” he said.

“We sometimes jokingly refer to it as ‘Stress Fighter’ *laughs*. It’s one of those games for sure. Please play this game to relieve your stress,” concluded Nishiyama.

There’s quite a bit more on the creation of the game you can check out at Shmuplations, found via Time Extension.

  • Oda Reveals Elbaf Loki’s Idol in One Piece Chapter 1145

As the Elbaf arc is in full swing, we are slowly starting to learn more of Loki’s backstory. While the home of the Giants is in turmoil due to an attack by the God’s Knights, some of the Straw Hats and the main members of the New Giant Warrior Pirates are busy treating Loki’s severe wounds. While they tend to his wounds, Loki starts talking about his past with Luffy.

In One Piece chapter 1145, Oda continues to build the parallel between Luffy and Loki as he finally reveals the character who inspired Loki to become a pirate.

Image Credit: Viz Media (via X/@F2V)

In the first One Piece arc, Romance Dawn, we meet the stubborn and sweet kid Luffy, who wants to join the Red Hair Pirates as he is profoundly inspired by their captain, Shanks. He was so adamant that kid Luffy stabbed himself under his left eye to prove his toughness to his idol. However, Shanks rejects the kid and gives away his iconic straw hat to Luffy on the condition that he must return the hat on becoming a great pirate. This moment inspired our hero to forge his own path and set out to become the Pirate King.

In One Piece Chapter 1145, Elbaf’s prince Loki admits that he can relate to Luffy in what it’s like to look up to a pirate idol as a kid and shares a backstory that draws a clear parallel to Luffy’s. Oda reveals that the legendary Rocks D. Xebec once visited the homeland of the Giants. During his visit, Loki asked Rocks to let him join his crew, but Rocks was annoyed by kid Loki’s behavior.

A desperate kid Loki challenged Rocks to a fight, and Loki was crushed to the ground, as expected. However, Rocks went ahead and stabbed Loki with his sword. When Edward Newgate, popularly known as Whitebeard, questioned his captain’s behavior, Rocks immediately silenced him.

Loki then confirms that he regrets being born in the wrong era, being a kid when Rocks D. Xebec arrived in his hometown. This dialogue reminded the fans of Roger’s words after finding Joy Boy‘s treasure since Loki’s comments were quite the opposite.

We didn’t expect Rocks of all characters to be talked about in the Elbaf arc. Loki is shaping up to be the forsaken one as his people, his lover, and now, Rocks rejected him. Maybe Oda is setting up all these rejections so that Luffy will be the first one to accept Loki as a member or a representative of the Straw Hat Pirates at the end of this arc.

In the meantime, let us know why Rocks D. Xebec might have visited Elbaf in the comments below.

  • iPhone Could Cost $3,500 if Made in the U.S., Warns Analyst

The price of an iPhone could rise to around $3,500 if Apple moves its smartphone production to the United States. That’s according to a report by CNN, citing comments from a leading tech analyst.

iPhone Prices Could Jump to $3,500 If Made in the U.S., Expert Says

The U.S. government has been pushing to bring manufacturing jobs back home. Officials claim that tariffs on imports will encourage companies to build products in the U.S. They say this shift would create millions of American jobs.

But some experts strongly disagree. Dan Ives, a tech analyst at Wedbush Securities, called this idea a “made-up story.” He believes making iPhones in the U.S. would be extremely expensive.

Currently, an iPhone sells for about $1,000. If production shifts to the U.S., that price could triple. “You’re going to have to build this supply chain into the U.S. with a factory in West Virginia and New Jersey. And that will end up being a $3,500 iPhone,” Ives said.

Apple currently depends on a massive supply chain in Asia. This network is efficient and has taken years to build. Recreating it in the U.S. would not be easy—or cheap.

According to Ives, moving even 10% of Apple’s production to the U.S. would cost about $30 billion. It would also take at least three years to complete.

The cost of labor in the U.S. is much higher than in countries like China or Vietnam. Setting up new factories, hiring workers, and training them would all add to the price. These extra costs would likely be passed on to consumers.

CNN says it has reached out to Apple for comment. So far, the company has not responded.

As the debate continues, many wonder if an American-made iPhone is worth the higher cost. While bringing jobs back sounds appealing, it may come with a big price tag for consumers.

For now, the idea remains just that—an idea. But if it ever becomes reality, buyers may need to prepare for much more expensive iPhones.

  • WhatsApp Introduces Group Chat Indicator, Custom Notifications, Call Features, and More

WhatsApp stands as one of the best messaging platforms across the globe. This is all thanks to their efforts to regularly introduce new and exciting features on their app. In their blog post, the company recently shared a list of all the additions, which we will go over. There are a lot of interesting features to cover here, so let’s go over them quickly, starting off with changes to your WhatsApp group chats.

One of the new features is an “Online” indicator for WhatsApp group chats. This lets you easily find out which group members are currently online on WhatsApp. They also added an option to customize group notifications. You can now pick between “All” chat alerts or “Highlights” to limit notifications to only when someone mentions or replies to your message.

Events attachment is now available in personal chats, which we previously covered in our March features list. They are also rolling out tappable reactions, similar to Slack. Here, you can see who reacted with what, and tap on the same emoji to +1 their reaction. Oh, and did I mention, you can now set WhatsApp as your default Calls and Messages app on iPhones.

You can now pinch to zoom on video calls, add someone on an ongoing call directly from a chat thread by tapping the call icon, and selecting “Add to call”. They have also improved their video calling experience further, optimizing the routing system to find the best connection path.

Video notes, an underrated feature to record quick videos, and voice message transcripts are now available for Channel admins. They can also share a unique QR code now that links directly to their Channels.

So that wraps up everything new available in that is available on WhatsApp. If you don’t see any of these new features on your device, then make sure to update the app to the latest version. I enjoy the new notification management for groups, so I don’t get annoyed by contact pings from group chats.
