Apple Maps is now available for Android users, but not as a regular app. Instead, Apple has launched a full web version of its map service. Android users can now go to maps.apple.com using any mobile browser to use Apple Maps. No download is needed.
Apple Maps Now Works on Android — But There’s a Catch
The web version includes many core features. You can move around the map, search for places, get details about businesses, and find directions. It works smoothly and is easy to use.
Apple has also added digital guides to the web version. These guides cover popular places in different cities. You’ll find lists of recommended restaurants, tourist spots, travel routes, and shopping areas. This makes the experience more useful for people exploring new locations.
Still, some features from the iPhone app are missing. Public transit information—like bus and train routes—is not available yet. The 3D views of buildings in U.S. and European cities are also not supported.
Another downside is that you can’t sign in with your Apple ID. That means you won’t see your saved places or custom guides. For now, everything is done in guest mode.
Even with these limits, this is a big step for Apple. The web version doesn’t only work on Android. It’s also available on other devices like Windows tablets or any phone with a browser. Apple is making its services more open to users outside its ecosystem.
Apple has said that more features will be added in the future. The company plans to keep improving the web version. Over time, it could offer the same experience as the iPhone app.
This launch is part of Apple’s effort to reach more users. By removing the need for an app, Apple Maps becomes more accessible. Android users now have a new choice for maps and directions—without switching to an Apple device.
What do you think about Apple Maps on Android? Is the web version enough, or should Apple release a full app? Share your thoughts in the comments!

While the original Street Fighter likely had an obscure brick breaking electro-mechanical arcade game to thank for its creation, in terms of the series’ iconic moves, you can thank real life martial arts for inspiring the franchise, just with some visual changes to make the moves more appealing.
The designer for the 1987 release of Street Fighter, Hiroshi Matsumoto, had collected a lot of martial arts materials through the years before he designed the first game in the iconic franchise.
Matsumoto was asked back in 1987 at a JAMMA Show if the attacks the enemies use in the first Street Fighter game actually exist.
“It’s more like they’re in the spirit of real moves. We based them on these research materials I have, and though they don’t exist in reality, they’re based on actual moves that we studied closely and then altered to look more visually impressive,” said Matsumoto.
When it was noted that the final match in Street Fighter takes place in Thailand, against Sagat, the designer noted it’s because they felt that was the best martial art back then.
“It was our way of saying Muay Thai is the strongest,” Matsumoto stated.
Takashi Nishiyama, the director for the game said that everyone came up with their own stories about Sagat and some other characters as well.
“Yeah, people imagined all kind of backstory for the characters. Like, ‘Mike is actually a good person, but his sister got sick so he became a Street Fighter to save money for her medical treatment.’,” Nishiyama said.
Next up, the interviewer noticed that a couple of characters were named after terms in golf, which Matsumoto confirmed to be Birdie and Eagle.
Lastly, Nishiyama was asked where the idea for the iconic hadouken came from.
“The basic idea was mine, but Matsumoto took it and fleshed it out further,” said Nishiyama.
You can find more about the original Street Fighter game in the interview that was recently translated by Shmuplations.
Also, check out how Terry Bogard’s origin actually came from the first Street Fighter, not Fatal Fury.
Pro player IBSG|Sasamo discovered an interesting glitch with Mai Shiranui in Street Fighter 6 that gives her a gigantic solar flare that stays locked to her character model as she moves back and forth.
This glitch is only possible in training mode, because it takes advantage of the game’s ability to save and restore a state in that mode, which isn’t something you can do during a normal match of the game.
The glitch uses Mai’s Chou Hissatsu Shinobi Bachi, also known as her Super 2, and saving and loading a state when she’s in the middle of the animation.
This results in a gigantic solar flare staying on screen and tracking Mai’s movements, although it appears to lose its hitbox entirely, as the effect seems to be purely visual.
We’ve definitely seem some unique things in the past with save states in prior Street Fighter games, so it’s entirely possible more glitches like this exist.
Good has recently released a new beta version of Android Auto for version 14.2. This update does not change anything physically for users to see. However, Google has introduced something quite interesting in the background. According to 9to5Google, some lines of code in the new software suggest that Google may be working on a feature that would enable smart glasses support for Android Auto. If this comes to fruition, how we navigate and use other features when driving could change entirely.
What Was Found in the Update
When developers looked through the code of Android Auto 14.2, they found something new. There’s now a setting called “Glasses.” Two lines in the code mention it:
GlassesStart navigation to launch Glasses
The wording sounds strange. What does “Start navigation to launch Glasses” mean? It’s not very clear. But in the Hindi version of the app, the message makes more sense. It says:
“To view navigation on smart glasses, start navigation.”
This makes it sound like Android Auto will send directions to a pair of smart glasses. That way, drivers could see turn-by-turn directions right in front of them — without looking at the car screen.
Why Smart Glasses Make Sense
Android Auto helps drivers stay focused. It shows useful info like maps, music, calls, and messages — all in a safe way.
Smart glasses could take this even further. Instead of glancing at a dashboard, you could see directions through the glasses. It’s like a heads-up display, but wearable.
Google recently showed off a new prototype for Android XR glasses. XR means “extended reality,” a mix of virtual and real-world tech. Google didn’t give a release date yet, but the timing fits. Maybe these new glasses will work with Android Auto.
What We Know and Don’t Know
Here’s what we know so far:
The latest Android Auto code mentions smart glasses.
Navigation may be the first feature to work with them.
The system might show directions on your glasses while you drive.
But there’s still a lot we don’t know:
We don’t know which glasses Google plans to use.
We don’t know when the feature will launch.
We also don’t know if it will work with third-party glasses or only Google’s own product.
A Safer Way to Drive?
This could be a big step forward. Smart glasses can help drivers keep their eyes on the road. You wouldn’t need to look down at your phone or screen anymore. Directions and alerts would be right there in front of you.
Other tech companies like Apple and Meta are also working on smart wearables. So it makes sense that Google is doing the same. Android Auto may soon move from your dashboard to your glasses.
Final Thoughts
Google hasn’t said anything official yet. But the code in the new update tells us something is coming. Smart glasses and Android Auto might soon work together. If that happens, driving could become safer and smarter. No need to glance at screens. Just wear your glasses and go. We’ll keep watching for more updates. For now, this is a sneak peek at what could be the future of in-car tech.

After years of anticipation, Bungie officially unveiled its new first-person shooter, Marathon, in a first-look trailer last week. With the success of Halo and influential titles like Pathways Into Darkness and the Marathon trilogy, Bungie picked 2025 as the year for a new extraction game. Following over a decade dedicated to the Destiny franchise, Bungie is revisiting its roots with this Marathon reboot, as we now have the official release date.
While the new Marathon game has been known to fans for some time, concrete information has been scarce. With the conclusion of Destiny 2’s main narrative in the Final Shape expansion last year, many anticipated a detailed look at Marathon. That moment has now arrived, as Bungie has provided its first comprehensive overview of Marathon, including its core features and planned release timeframe. Here is the first gameplay reveal trailer for Marathon:
Marathon Official Release Date and Platforms
After revealing the gameplay for the team-based extraction shooter, Bungie shared the official launch date for the game. Marathon will be released for PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (via Steam) on September 23, 2025. Last week, after a Marathon showcase trailer Bungie revealed more about the game, including runners and some mechanics. Marathon will be available for alpha testing from April 23. Currently, the Marathon alpha test is available only for players in North America.
Before the game releases, you can also wishlist Marathon on the PS Store, Microsoft Store, and Steam. Are you excited for Bungie’s Marathon reboot?

Capcom and Data East weren’t the only companies at odds over the idea that another developer may have copied their ideas in a fighting game.
Sega was reportedly considering suing Atari over the 1996 fighting game Fight For Life, which was panned by critics and considered a flop for the Atari Jaguar — but they thought it would be too embarrassing to do so.
In a blog post by Kenji Aoyagi, he explained what happened: “When Virtua Fighter 1 was completed, there was one French person on the staff,” referring to former Sega AM2 staff member, Francois Bertrand.
“And after the game was finished, that person moved on to work at Atari. And then when photographs surfaced of Atari Jaguar’s new software, the Virtua Fighter team was surprised. That’s because it was basically a complete ripoff of Virtua Fighter. The culprit was without a doubt the french man,” Aoyagi wrote.
“The staff instantly started going ‘lawsuit, lawsuit’ and diligently gathered funds to do so and it went all the way to a point where we said ‘Alright, we’re ready to sue at any time!’ but at that point, the animations which obviously wouldn’t have been visible through a photograph were so rough that the feeling became ‘if we sue over something that looks like this, that’ll be more embarrassing for us’ so they apparently dropped the lawsuit,” Aoyagi stated.
“I don’t know how much of it is true, but… well, my friend always said ‘There’s nothing we can do anyway since Atari is protected by CITES’ …” Aoyagi noted, referring to the shorter name for the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species of Wild Fauna and Flora, also known as the Washington Convention.
For his part, Francois Bertrand freely admits that his time at Sega in Japan had a positive impact on the game, stating “Of course, all the research I did in Japan, was beneficial to help making Fight For Life.”
In terms of why Fight For Life turned out so poorly, Bertrand elaborated on what was happening behind the scenes at Atari in an Arcade Attack interview.
“[Fight For Life] took longer than anticipated to come out, not really due to production issues, but more to the financial state of Atari at the time,” Bertrand said.
“We were almost done, when the company more or less folded overnight, and it took some pushing and pulling to get it finished,” he stated.
Bertrand was then asked if Fight For Life was an unfinished game, and released too early, to which he responded:
“When the company starting to lay off people, while trying to find a suitor, the game was not finished. It was not far off but would have needed a few more months to be even better.
“I was able to negotiate a couple of months (after being laid off myself) to finalize what was finazable [sic]. I could have used five [months], but that’s all I could get. We would have needed that extra time to QA the game a little better, and polish a lot of the things that were still a bit too bare.
“But at that time, it was either that, or not having the game. Some things got cut, just because of lack of time or resources,” Bertrand concluded.

NYT Wordle is a satisfying and tricky test of vocabulary and logic that challenges players to guess a new five-letter word every day. However, things can get a little too challenging at times, and that probably explains why you’re here. So, if you don’t want to break your word-guessing streak or get too frustrated, take a look at today’s Wordle hints and answer for puzzle #1394 for April 13, 2025, down below!
How to Play Wordle
Wordle is a word puzzle game by The New York Times. You are given six attempts to guess a five-letter word. The letters are highlighted in Yellow, Green, and Grey when you input a word. Yellow denotes that the letter appears in today’s Wordle answer, but it’s not at the right spot. Meanwhile, when a letter turns green, it means you have guessed the right letter in the right position. At last, a grey letter means the letter is not part of today’s answer.
While it may seem that winning at Wordle is easy, it is difficult to get that pesky five-letter word right. To help you out, here are some quick tips on how to play Wordle:
Open with a strong word – Using the right Wordle starting words rich with multiple vowels and consonants is important. While you can take a look at our dedicated guide, starting words like AISLE, SALTY, and DINER are my go-to choices.
Pay attention to colors – Keep track of the yellow, green, and grayed-out letters to eliminate incorrect positions and letters. To make every guess count, avoid accidentally repeating letters that have already been eliminated.
Isolate the vowels – There can be days when your usual starting words don’t help much. In that case, try to test the remaining vowels by using different words.
Repeating letters is good – Don’t be afraid of repeating letters as history is proof that there are chances the Wordle answer will have one or two letters that repeat themselves.
Use the Wordlebot – As described above, NYT’s Wordlebot is an intuitive bot that analyzes your responses and compares them against itself. Instilling some healthy competition can help you improve your own Wordle guessing and see what you could have done better.

Bungie has finally revealed the official gameplay for their upcoming extraction FPS game, Marathon. While the game also disclosed the release date, some players can experience the challenges early. If you also want that, follow this guide as we explain how to sign up for the Marathon alpha test, its duration, and more.
How to Sign Up for the Marathon Alpha Test
Marathon is one of the most anticipated games of 2025, so many players are excited to get their hands on the game. After the gameplay reveal, Bungie announced a release date for Marathon along with the alpha test details. Before you can sign up for the closed alpha test, you must join the official Marathon Discord server. Once you have joined it, follow the step-by-step process below:
Go to the #alpha_access channel and type /alpha.
Now, the MarathonAlphaBot will reply to you with a link.

Marathon Alpha Test Release and End Date
As per Bungie, the release date for Marathon’s alpha test is Wednesday, April 23, at 10 a.m. PDT. Keep in mind that it is a closed alpha test, which means there might be an open test later. The Marathon alpha test will end on Sunday, May 4, at 10 a.m. PDT. Selection for the Marathon alpha will be confirmed via email, which will also contain instructions for downloading the approximately 6 GB game. Below, we have mentioned important details about the closed alpha test.
Things to Remember About Marathon Alpha Test
Sign-up for the Marathon playtest is Discord-based. However, the closed alpha, launching five months before the game’s release, has notable restrictions. A strict NDA prohibits streaming or sharing any content. Receiving a priority code only increases the chance of access; it does not guarantee entry.
Moreover, this technical test is primarily for North American players, potentially causing limited functionality and slower matchmaking elsewhere. PlayStation codes are region-locked to North and South America. Participants with priority access receive two friend codes, but again, this does not guarantee their friends’ access.
The closed-off, NA-centric, and NDA-protected nature of this alpha, so close to launch, is questionable to some. Codes will be distributed starting the week of April 14th and throughout the alpha’s duration. While Bungie might introduce additional access methods later, none have been announced yet.
It also seems from Marathon’s official release date that Bungie is trying to avoid GTA 6. Keep in mind that the Borderlands 4 release date is also September 23. This way, Bungie is guaranteeing that they will not clash with the release of the biggest game of the year.
What to Expect from the Marathon Alpha
Bungie hosted a media and creator preview event at their headquarters, granting early access to the Marathon alpha, though some features may differ from the public version. During the preview, attendees explored two distinct maps: the smaller, early-game Perimeter and the larger Dire Marsh, which supports six squads of three players.
The alpha featured a diverse range of weapons and items, including rare golden legendary items with unique and potent effects. While it’s uncertain if all weapon types were available, Bungie confirmed the existence of unique weapon mods not included in this early build.
Players could test four distinct Runners: Locus, a tank-like character with a shield and rockets; Glitch, a fast character with an arm cannon and double jump; Blackbird, an information specialist with scanning abilities; and Void, a stealthy character capable of invisibility. The preview also allowed testing of contracts, which function as quests to improve relationships with various factions. Advancing faction progress unlocks account upgrades such as increased vault space and access to advanced shop items.
While we wait for our Marathon alpha test turn, the preview seems promising. Have you signed up for the closed alpha test already? Do tell us in the comments below.
