  • Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection title update coming this week to add new features, quality of life enhancements and more

The Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection launched last year, and though it’s been left alone for a while, there’s some big changes coming very soon.

Capcom just announced a title update for the MvC Collection slated to hit the game this week to add new features, quality of life enhancements, and quite a bit more to the experience.

We don’t have the patch notes yet, but Capcom did release a trailer showcasing many of the additions being made to the game for players to get a sneak peek.

Coming this Wednesday, April 16, the MvC title update will allow users to choose between three different versions of X-Men vs. Street Fighter for the arcade that change up the gameplay and balance.

Marvel vs. Capcom 2 is getting an internal resolution option to increase the fidelity on the 3D aspects of the game like the stage backgrounds.

Versus Mode is being added to all fighting titles, so you can more easily set up matches and even set the victory condition amount of matches to win up to at least 10.

There’s more included like quick resets from the pause menu as well, but that’s not all.

New artwork from Shinkiro is being added to the game for fans to view as well as new music remixes.

The themes of Captain America, Cyclops, Jin and Captain Commando are going to receive Cap-Jams versions to listen to in the game as bonus tracks.

Many of these changes are coming not only to the MvC collection but also the Capcom Fighting Collection and upcoming Capcom Fighting Collection 2 though no date was given for those.

You can check out the trailer for the new Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection update below.

  • Today’s Wordle Hints, Answer for #1396 on April 15, 2025

NYT Wordle is a satisfying and tricky test of vocabulary and logic that challenges players to guess a new five-letter word every day. However, things can get a little too challenging at times, and that probably explains why you’re here. So, if you don’t want to break your word-guessing streak or get too frustrated, take a look at today’s Wordle hints and answer for puzzle #1396 for April 15, 2025, down below!

    How to Play Wordle

Wordle is a word puzzle game by The New York Times. You are given six attempts to guess a five-letter word. The letters are highlighted in Yellow, Green, and Grey when you input a word. Yellow denotes that the letter appears in today’s Wordle answer, but it’s not at the right spot. Meanwhile, when a letter turns green, it means you have guessed the right letter in the right position. At last, a grey letter means the letter is not part of today’s answer.

While it may seem that winning at Wordle is easy, it is difficult to get that pesky five-letter word right. To help you out, here are some quick tips on how to play Wordle:

    • Open with a strong word – Using the right Wordle starting words rich with multiple vowels and consonants is important. While you can take a look at our dedicated guide, starting words like AISLE, SALTY, and DINER are my go-to choices.
    • Pay attention to colors – Keep track of the yellow, green, and grayed-out letters to eliminate incorrect positions and letters. To make every guess count, avoid accidentally repeating letters that have already been eliminated.
    • Isolate the vowels – There can be days when your usual starting words don’t help much. In that case, try to test the remaining vowels by using different words.
    • Repeating letters is good – Don’t be afraid of repeating letters, as history is proof that there are chances the Wordle answer will have one or two letters that repeat themselves.
    • Use the Wordlebot – As described above, NYT’s Wordlebot is an intuitive bot that analyzes your responses and compares them against itself. Instilling some healthy competition can help you improve your own Wordle guessing and see what you could have done better.

Meaning of Ashen — The colour pale gray, like the color of ashes.

Today’s Wordle was not too hard, thanks to being a massive fan of the Witcher franchise. SALTY, DINER and POUCH had a green “E” to offer, alongside “S”, “A”, “N”, and “H” in yellow. At first, I was absolutely blank about what the answer could be. So, I tried HANDS and after that, I facepalmed a little too hard as I typed ASHEN and saw it turn green, letter by letter. Oh boy, do I love the ashen-haired Ciri. Can’t wait for Witcher 4.

  • NYT Strands Today: Hints, Answers & Spangram for April 15, 2025

If you are finding it hard to spot theme words in today’s puzzle, then you are in serious need of the Strands hints below. Those bored with sensational games like Wordle and Connections are turning their attention to Strands for a challenging new experience. If you happen to be one of them and are struggling with NYT Strands, we can get you sorted. So, to help you out, we have added the Strands hints, answers, and Spangram on Tuesday, April 15, 2025, below.

    What is NYT Strands?

NYT Strands is a word game created by The New York Times as part of its growing “Games” library. The aim of this New York Times game is to connect letters in a six-by-eight grid to form a bunch of words that share the same theme.

To get you started, the puzzle will give you a theme for today’s NYT Strands. You can use it to form multiple “theme” words which will be relevant to this theme, along with one “special” word called the Spangram. This is a word or phrase that spans the length of the grid, vertically, horizontally, or diagonally, giving you the key to crack the rest of the Strands theme words.

The theme for today’s Strands can be relevant in many different ways. So, the puzzle keeps you on your toes every day with its intriguing set of theme words and Spangrams.

NYT Strands Hints for Today’s Theme: “Draft picks”

The theme for today’s Strands on April 15, 2025, is — Draft picks

If you can’t figure out answers for today’s puzzle, here’s a quick Strands hint — think of beers or ales made with special malts and hops

Here are hints for a couple of Strands theme words to make it easy for you to solve today’s puzzle on your own without having to scroll down to view the answers:

    • Hint #1: a type of pale beer, characterized by its light color, crisp taste, and moderate hop flavor.
    • Hint #2: a style of dark ale known for its rich, malty flavors, often with notes of chocolate, coffee, and caramel.

NYT Strands Spangram Hint: Is It Vertical or Horizontal?

The Spangram for today’s Strands on April 15, 2025, is mostly HORIZONTAL. It starts with the letters “MI“.

The hint for today’s Spangram for Strands — a place that produces limited quantities of beer, typically for consumption on its own premises.

    Spoiler Warning:

Scroll past this point AT YOUR OWN RISK. Hints and answers for today’s Strands below.

Today’s NYT Strands Answers for April 15, 2025

    Today’s Strands Spangram Answer

    • PILSNER

The answers for today’s Strands were pretty straightforward. I started off with the first set of theme words – STOUT and LAGER. Once I spotted BREW, solving the Spangram and the theme words was an easy affair.

What is NYT Strands Spangram and How Does It Work?

Every NYT Strands puzzle consists of a unique word or phrase that’s called the Spangram. This word or set of words will run the length of two opposite sides of the grid. One thing to note here is that, a Spangram doesn’t necessarily have to originate or end at the edge of the grid.

In its essence, the Spangram is kind of like a bigger hint that sums up today’s Strands theme in just a word or two. Since it spans across two sides of the puzzle, solving it early helps you figure out the rest of the theme words and vice versa.

Tips and Tricks for Mastering NYT Strands Puzzles

Solving an NYT Strands puzzle successfully isn’t that hard in itself, but in some cases, the approach might not be as straightforward as it looks. So, here are simple tips and tricks that we suggest you follow to crack the theme words and Spangram for Strands puzzles:

    • Always start at the corners: No two puzzles are the same. But the chances of the Spangram extending to a diagonal form are quite low. So, the best strategy is to find and decrypt relevant words that are at the corners of the grid.
    • Don’t be ashamed to get hints: Sometimes, a theme word could be all you need to solve the entire puzzle. If that requires getting a hint using non-theme words, then that’s the first thing you should do. After all, the point is to have fun and figure this out, like all of us.
    • Think both literally and figuratively: Not all themes may land you in the same sense of thought. Some puzzles may welcome more clever answers that may convey something totally different from their actual meaning.
    • Aim for the Spangram: The Spangram is what splits the Strands board in half. So, figuring it out will help you cross out other potential approaches for a theme. Deciphering even half of the Spangram can get you close to the rest of the answers.

  • OpenAI Launches New GPT-4.1 Models, But They’re Not Coming to ChatGPT

OpenAI has launched a new series of AI models including GPT-4.1, GPT-4.1 mini, and GPT-4.1 nano. They are the best non-reasoning AI models from OpenAI, but the GPT-4.1 series is not coming to ChatGPT. OpenAI says GPT-4.1 series models are exclusively trained for developers, and they are available in the API, starting today. GPT-4.1 was tested on OpenRouter as “Quasar Alpha”.

During the launch, OpenAI CPO Kevin Weil said GPT-4.1 is “better than GPT-4o on just about every dimension.” And on some key benchmarks, the GPT-4.1 model matches or beats the massive GPT-4.5 AI model. OpenAI says GPT-4.1 excels at coding, instruction following, and long context retrieval.

The new GPT-4.1 AI models come with a context window of 1 million tokens for the first time, which is huge, and have a recent knowledge cutoff of June 2024. So in many ways, the GPT-4.1 model looks like a major upgrade to the GPT-4o model. Not to mention, these are multimodal models which means you can process both text and images as well.

Coming to benchmarks, OpenAI says on SWE-bench Verified, GPT-4.1 completed 55% of tasks, much higher than GPT-4o’s 33% and o3-mini-high’s 49%. Next, in instruction following, GPT-4.1 came very close to GPT-4.5, o3-mini-high, and o1-high on OpenAI’s internal benchmark.

Following that, on the Needle in a Haystack test, which evaluates information retrieval in a long context window, all three models under the GPT-4.1 series correctly retrieved the information up to 1 million tokens.

Finally, coming to pricing, GPT-4.1 costs $2/$8 for input/output tokens per 1 million tokens. Basically, in median queries, GPT-4.1 is 26% cheaper than GPT-4o while offering much better performance. GPT-4.1 nano is the cheapest and fastest model by OpenAI, ever. Lastly, OpenAI mentioned that GPT-4.5 is going away from the API on 14th July, 2025.

  • New Capcom Fighting Collection 2 trailer showcases Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper and Power Stone

We’re now just over a month away from getting our hands on a bunch of classic Capcom fighting games on modern systems for the first time.

The company just dropped a new game spotlight trailer for the upcoming Capcom Fighting Collection 2.

Like we previously saw with Project Justice and Plasma Sword, this trailer focuses mainly on Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper and Power Stone.

Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper is an updated version of the arcade classic that came out in 2001.

This particular edition had never really been accessible in the West (outside of technically the Game Boy Advance), so it’ll be interesting to finally have that in the home — though it would have been cooler if we got Alpha 3 Max instead.

Upper added the characters from the original home console ports like Guile and Evil Ryu as well as made gameplay changes like removing crouch-canceling infinites.

Power Stone basically revolutionized what would become the modern arena fighter back in 1999 with its frenetic multiplayer action that many still look back on very fondly.

Unfortunately, the game hadn’t really been accessible since the PSP Power Stone Collection from 2006, so it’s nice to see the series finally get some attention too.

Part of the trailer is dedicated to Training Mode and the Cap-Jams pre-order music like last time as well.

Plus, those in North America can receive a mini Capcom vs. SNK comic book for pre-ordering the physical edition of the compilation.

The Capcom Fighting Collection 2 features Capcom vs. SNK, Capcom vs. SNK 2, Capcom Fighting Evolution, Street Fighter Alpha 3 Upper, Star Gladiator, Plasma Sword Power Stone, and Power Stone 2 on the playable roster with online play and new options.

This new fighting collection is set to release on May 16 for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PC.

  • iPhone Prices Won’t Be Affected By Tariffs But Don’t Celebrate Just Yet

In our last report, U.S. President Donald Trump offered relief to other nations from their reciprocal tariffs while imposing 125% tariffs on Chinese products. However, this tariff was later taken back on certain electronic products, including smartphones. In the latest turn of events, we’ve learned that this isn’t a permanent solution as these products will be subject to a special kind of tariff.

On the 13th of April, the U.S. Customs and Border Protection updated its guidelines, exempting smartphones, tablets, laptops, and other electronics from reciprocal tariffs; even the electronics products shipped from China. However, Commerce Secretary, Howard Lutnic, told ABC news that these products will be looped into “a special focus type of tariff” applied to semiconductor products.

When asked whether these upcoming tariffs will mean higher prices for the Apple iPhone, Lutnic responded with, “I don’t necessarily think so. I think the idea is that we can manufacture here in America.” He shared an example of the Panasonic EV factory in Kansas and wants Apple to do the same for iPhones.

A U.S.-made iPhone doesn’t seem like a sound idea as currently more than 80% of Apple’s manufacturing takes place in China. Shifting it all over to the U.S., plus the added cost of native labor, will cost the company billions in a short period. Plus, it would still result in higher-priced devices compared to the cost of an iPhone right now.

While the idea of U.S.-made iPhones is still far from reality, this limited exemption should offer a breathing room to manufacturers while they figure out a solution to the tariff problem. What are your thoughts on this? Would you be willing to pay more if the iPhones were made in the U.S.? Let us know in the comments below.

    Games Releasing in September 2025

This is where things decide to get a little thin. Currently, there aren’t many games with a confirmed September 2025 release date. Nonetheless, we have two of the most solid upcoming video game launches that I personally am looking forward to. These are:

    • Hell is Us: September 4 (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S)
    • Borderlands 4: September 23 (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S)

    Games Releasing in October 2025

Like September, there is little information on games launching in October 2025. That said, here are some of the upcoming video games coming this month:

    • Directive 8020: October 2 (PC, PS5, Xbox Series X/S)
    • Double Dragon Revive: October 23 (PC, PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One)

    Games Releasing in November-December 2025

This area is what we call the great void. Currently, there are almost zero games with a confirmed release date for the tail end of the year. Fear not, however, as that’s normal. As the year drags on, developers will provide more information or not as they have Rockstar’s baby, GTA 6, to fear.

Upcoming 2025 Games with No Release Date

In the field of vagueness, listed below are the video games that will be released sometime in 2025. While they don’t have a particular release date, we know they will likely come this year. However, one thing is certain: Grand Theft Auto 6 will knock gamers out of the park.

Image Credit: GTA (via Rockstar Games)

With the GTA 6 Trailer 1 already released, we eagerly await the game’s release. Of course, other titles like 2XKO and Ghost of Yotei have me tingling as well. That said, here are all the upcoming 2025 games with no confirmed release date:

    • 2XKO (PC)
    • An Amazing Wizard (PC)
    • ArcheAge Chronicles (PC)
    • Atelier Resleriana: The Red Alchemist & the White Guardian (PS5, PS4, Switch, PC)
    • Atelier Yumia: The Alchemist of Memories & the Envisioned Land (PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X/S)
    • Automate It (Switch, PC)
    • Baby Steps (PS5, PC)
    • Bad Cheese (PC)
    • Battle Vision Network (PC, Netflix)
    • Begone Beast (PC)
    • Big Walk (PC)
    • Biped 2 (PS5, PS4, Xvox Series X/S, Xbox One, Switch, PC)
    • Bittersweet Birthday (PS5, Xbox, Switch, PC)

  • iOS 19: Leaks, Release Date, Rumored Features & Supported Devices

Apple is expected to announce iOS 19 at the WWDC 2025 in June, as is the norm each year. But this year, the buzz surrounding the latest OS is extraordinary since there are reports of a major redesign at the scale we last saw with iOS 7. If you’re curious about what iOS 19 will entail before Apple reveals it at the June 9 keynote, here’s everything we know so far about the upcoming update.

What Is the iOS 19 Release Date?

Apple will unveil iOS 19 at WWDC 2025 on June 9, 2025, following its annual pattern. iOS 19 developer beta is expected to be released right after the announcement on June 9, with a public beta likely in July. The first stable version of iOS 19 is expected to roll out alongside the iPhone 17 series in September 2025.

iOS 19 Leaks & Rumored Features

These are the rumors churning around in the rumor mills for iOS 19. Since the official release is a few months away and Apple doesn’t announce features beforehand, these are rumors and iOS 19 leaks gathered from reputable sources. Still, take everything you read with a grain of salt instead of something written in stone.

    1. A visionOS-inspired Redesign

One of the biggest reports for iOS 19 involves a major UI and UX overhaul, which will take inspiration from visionOS. The redesign will reportedly go beyond a fresh coat of paint, according to Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman. The company is planning to tweak the look as well as the user experience. If it’s true, this will change how users interact with Apple’s devices.

This redesign will reportedly include floating windows and glass-like aesthetics across apps. It will also span across iPadOS 19 and macOS 16, bringing consistency across Apple’s devices. Adopting the design principles the company introduced with visionOS, the redesign will include transparent menus, rounded icons, and new buttons. Apple’s recent app, Apple Invites, features transparent elements, which also gives more weight to these iOS 19 design rumors about the new direction the company is heading into.

As we have earlier reported, a new leak from Front Page Tech shows the extent of some of iOS 19’s new design. According to the video, the app icons are more between a square and a circle instead of a full circle. But Prosser suggests that the icons could still become completely round by the time iOS 19 is previewed in June. Some controls in the Control Center have also experienced a similar rounding treatment.

Reportedly, Apple is also introducing a pill-shaped tab bar to the bottom of apps. The Tab Bar will include a Tab View icon and a search bar. Tapping on the Tab View icon will expand the tab bar to show different tabs from an app. The Tab Bar won’t just come to Apple apps. Third-party app developers might also be able to add it to their apps.

There will also be other minor changes. Expect elongated toggles in the Settings app or a shimmer effect for lock screen controls in iOS 19.

Note that while some reports have been likening the redesign to the dramatic shift seen with iOS 7, others suggest the changes may be more iterative, bringing a fresh aesthetic rather than a complete overhaul. But even if reports about the scale of the redesign differ, everyone seems to be in agreement that a redesign is happening.

    2. Redesigned Camera and Messages app

Reports suggest that iOS 19 will also bring a redesign for the Camera app. As Beebom previously reported, Jon Prosser shared the new design for the Camera app on his YouTube channel. The new design will feature only two tabs at the bottom: Photo and Video. The rest of the associated options will appear when you tap on either of the two.

For instance, tapping the ‘Photo’ tab may show options like Depth, Spatial, Pano, Style, Aspect, Exposure, and Timer, while the ‘Video’ tab may house the options for Depth, Spatial, Slow-Mo, Time-Lapse, Action, and Exposure.

The menus themselves will be transparent to align with the proposed visionOS-like redesign across apps in iOS 19.

Along with the Camera app, Jon Prosser has also hinted at seeing the redesign in the Messages app, which featured rounded, transparent buttons for back navigation and FaceTime at the top and a rounded keyboard at the bottom. The Messages app might also have a persistent search bar at the bottom.

After these iOS 19 leaks, Gurman posted that the leaks seem to be based on “very old builds or vague descriptions, missing key features.” But in the new video Prosser shared, he’s called out Gurman. Prosser also says that they’ve now seen the latest builds, and their report reflects that.

    3. Personalized Siri

Personalized Siri, which was initially slated to arrive with other AI features in iOS 18, could potentially arrive with iOS 19. Apple announced the delay last month in what has become Apple’s biggest crisis in decades. What’s even more embarrassing is the fact that Apple hasn’t given a concrete timeline for the delay.

So, while we’re hopeful to see Personalized Siri by iOS 19.4 next year, it still might not happen. If you’re not in the loop, Apple had planned the following Siri upgrades as part of the Apple Intelligence push:

    • Personal Context: Siri will be able to keep track of your information across emails, messages, files, etc., to help you in a more personalized manner. For instance, if you say, “What’s my Driver’s License number?” and you have the information stored somewhere like Photos, Siri will be able to find and retrieve it for you.
    • Onscreen Awareness: Siri will be able to see the information on your screen and complete actions accordingly. For example, if you’re texting with someone and receive a link in the text, you can simply ask Siri to add it to your bookmarks, and Siri will know what you mean.
    • Take actions across apps: Siri will also be able to take multiple actions across apps at a level previously impossible. For example, it will be able to edit your photos and send them to someone, retrieve information from a document and email it to someone on your behalf, and more.

    Note

Apple is also working on an even greater overhaul for Siri, which will bring its capabilities at par with other LLM chatbots like ChatGPT. However, given the delays in Personalized Siri, it’s unlikely that this smarter version, codenamed LLM Siri, will arrive in iOS 19.

    4. Revamped Health App with an AI Doctor

While Apple is struggling to ship AI features previously announced, reports of new AI features have already started to make the rounds. With iOS 19.4, the tech giant plans to bring an AI Doctor to the Health app, which will also see an overhaul otherwise. The AI Doctor/ Coach service will reportedly give users personalized recommendations for their health after analyzing the data captured by the Health app.

There will also be other health-related features in iOS 19, as per Gurman. For instance, the AI agent will be able to analyze users’ workouts as the Health app will gain camera access. While I’m cautious about the feature, I must say it will be a great move in making AI-assisted healthcare more accessible to everyone.

    5. Live Translation for AirPods

Apple is also working on a Live translation feature for AirPods, and the update will be tied to iOS 19. The feature, which will use Apple’s Translate app, will simplify the translation process for the wearer. If the person wearing the AirPods is an English speaker but is talking to someone speaking French, for example, AirPods will automatically detect and translate French to English. While the Translate app already has these capabilities, bringing them to AirPods with iOS 19 will make it even more seamless.

These are all the speculated features known to be coming to iOS 19. While there will undoubtedly be more features in the update, reports also suggest that Apple could cool down with its annual approach of shipping features. Instead, it will bring them when they are ready. Perhaps it will be a good thing, given the company’s recent struggle to ship all the features it announced at WWDC 2024.

Which iPhones Will Get iOS 19?

iOS 19: Leaks, Release Date, Rumored Features & Supported Devices

According to a recent leak, Apple is reportedly dropping iPhones XR, XS, and XS Max from the list of iOS 19 supported devices. If the rumor turns out to be true, which it might (since it’s shared by an anonymous and private account on X with a history of dropping correct information), the list of iOS 19 compatible devices would include:

    • iPhone 11, 11 Pro, 11 Pro Max
    • iPhone SE (2nd gen)
    • iPhone 12, 12 mini, 12 Pro, 12 Pro Max
    • iPhone 13, 13 mini, 13 Pro, 13 Pro Max
    • iPhone SE (3rd gen)
    • iPhone 14, 14 Plus, 14 Pro, 14 Pro Max
    • iPhone 15, 15 Plus, 15 Pro, 15 Pro Max
    • iPhone 16, 16 Plus, 16 Pro, 16 Pro Max, 16e

Of course, then there’s the iPhone 17 lineup – iPhone 17, 17 Plus, 17 Pro, 17 Pro Max, and the rumored iPhone 17 Air – that will ship with the iOS 19 update.

That’s all the information currently out in the ether about iOS 19. It’s surely going to be an important one. What are your thoughts on the iOS 19 leaks and the rumored redesign? Do you think it will be a good idea, or is it only to distract users from the failure of Apple Intelligence?

  • ‘We recognize there are some people that may not be able to afford [the Switch 2’s] price point…’ — President of Nintendo of America

Nintendo recently unveiled all the juicy details about their upcoming new console, the Switch 2. The console is set to be released on June 5, 2025. Originally, Nintendo intended to allow preorders starting on April 9, 2025, but these plans were delayed due to the potential tariff impact.

Oddly, they decided not to reveal the price of the hybrid device during their latest Nintendo Direct presentation, but fans were able to determine that the console is set to launch for $449.99 in the United States. Needless to say, this is an extremely high ask for even the most hardcore Nintendo fans.

To make matters worse, games like Mario Kart World are intended to be sold for $79.99, though most other games like Donkey Kong Bananza will be priced at $69.99.

Due to all of this, Nintendo’s pricing strategies for the Switch 2 has caused an uproar amongst the fanbase. All throughout the Nintendo Treehouse events that followed after the Switch 2 showcase, spectators would spam comments like “Drop The Price” into the chat.

Nintendo decided to stay silent on the matter for a period of time until Doug Bowser was finally pressed about the issue during an interview. It was during this exchange that the President of Nintendo of America mentioned that games will have “variable pricing” based on the “repeatability of gameplay experiences” associated with a given game.

Ultimately, Bowser declared that not every game will cost $79.99 like Mario Kart World. As of right now, they haven’t yet set a “benchmark” on what the average Nintendo Switch 2 game will cost.

During another interview with CBC, Bowser mentioned that he felt the price for the Switch 2 was “appropriate” considering what it offers.

“As we look at Nintendo Switch 2 and you think about the feature sets that I talked about… we believe that the pricing is appropriate for the value of the machine and the gameplay experience overall.” — Doug Bowser

“As we look at Nintendo Switch 2 and you think about the feature sets that I talked about… we believe that the pricing is appropriate for the value of the machine and the gameplay experience overall,” said Bowser on the matter.

However, Bowser also acknowledged that not everyone will be able to afford the Switch 2. He assured people that the Switch 2’s predecessor will still be supported for at least a little while after the launch of the new console.

“We recognize there are some people that may not be able to afford [the Switch 2’s] price point,” continued Bowser. “That’s why we wanted to make the other Switch platforms available, so [people] still have an opportunity to come into our gaming universe, be a part of these characters in these worlds, and see value, if you will, in whatever rung of the platform they come in.”

It’s been over eight years since the Switch originally launched back on March 3, 2017. Since then, the Switch has become the third-best selling gaming device with it selling over 150.86 million units worldwide.

“We recognize there are some people that may not be able to afford [the Switch 2’s] price point…” — Doug Bowser

Bowser was apparently unwilling to divulge Nintendo’s target numbers for the Switch 2, but he did say that Nintendo believes that the Switch 2 could become as successful as its predecessor someday. This implies that Nintendo holds a hope that all Switch owners are able to transition to the Switch 2 eventually.

For now, Nintendo has not yet revealed a new preorder date for the Switch 2 in the United States and Canada regions. There’s also an implication that the new console could have its price increased even higher due to the potential tariff concerns.

Although the United States has enacted a 90-day pause on most tariffs, Nintendo is likely having to review its strategies for future scenarios. It’s hard to imagine things going well if they decide to announce a new price for the Switch 2 considering all the controversy that’s already emerged.

Here’s hoping that things are able to somehow work themselves out for the better. We’ll just have to wait and see how things play out from here.
