  • When Is the Next CS2 Weekly Care Package Reset (Countdown)

If you haven’t been living under a rock, you would know that Valve officially launched Counter-Strike 2 to replace CS: GO. The CS2 launch brought many new features and updates. But the most interesting thing about CS2 is its new drop-based weekly reward system. The new drop system in Counter-Strike 2 is called the “Weekly Care Package.” This drop mechanic resets once a week. We will discuss this new weekly care package aka the weekly rewards in Counter-Strike 2 in this guide. We have also added a Weekly Care Package reset countdown timer so that you never miss the chance to claim your next million-dollar knife in CS2.

What is the Weekly Care Package in Counter-Strike 2

The Weekly Care Package is a reward system in the new Counter-Strike 2 game. The rewards are only available for Prime members of CS2. Valve is well-known for its random drops in games like CS: GO and Dota 2. Earlier these drops could get someone loads of rewards but some people would end up with nothing in their inventory for days.

Now, the Weekly Care Package screen in CS2 will present you with four randomized in-game skins and rewards (more on this below). You will have a chance to get two guaranteed rewards every week instead of these random drops after matches.

In Counter-Strike 2, you will get two active boosts in experience boost and weekly drops every week. During these active boosts, you will be able to get additional XP from playing games. Once you reach the next XP rank, you will receive your Weekly Care Package.

CS2 Weekly Care Package Reset Date & Time (Countdown)

The Weekly Care Package in Counter-Strike 2 has a refresh or reset date and time. It happens every Tuesday at 8:00 PM CT (or 6:00 PM PT). According to this, the next CS2 Weekly Care Package reset will happen on Tuesday, October 10, 2023, at 8:00 PM CT, which translates to Wednesday, October 11, 2023, at 1:00 AM GMT. We have attached a countdown for the CS2 Weekly Care Package reset so that you never miss an update. Check out the CS2 Weekly Care Package reset countdown timer:

Items You Can Get in Counter-Strike 2 Weekly Rewards

Once you visit the Store tab in your game, you will see the weekly rewards. The rewards in the Weekly Care Package can contain anything from knives and gun skins to graffiti sprays, and more across all rarities. However, the most important part of this weekly reward system is the mandatory case drops. Although Valve has not confirmed the CS2 case is mandatory, I have received cases on both Weekly Care Packages till now.

For example, in the first week, I received a Recoil Case, Nova (Sand Guns), Sealed Graffiti (Eco, Shark White), and Sealed Graffiti (Cocky, SWAT Blue). In the second week, I received a Revolution case, P90 (Sand spray), Tec-9 (Groundwater), and Chess King Graffiti in CS2. I would also like to remind you that these rewards differ from player to player. Who knows you might get two graffiti or cases in a Weekly Care Package.

How to Claim a Weekly Care Package Reward in CS2

The method to claim Weekly Care Package rewards in Counter-Strike 2 is simple, but we have still detailed the process here. Follow the steps below:

    1. Make sure you did not claim the reward for this week already. You can go to the store tab and check for it.
    2. Now, once you reach the next XP level on your account, you will see the “Weekly Care Package” pop-up right after the game.
    3. Alternatively, if you missed the pop-up screen, just go to the store tab and you will see the weekly rewards there.
    Weekly Care Package in Store
    1. On the pop-up or store rewards screen, select the rewards you want to claim and click the green “CLAIM REWARDS” button. And that’s it; enjoy your new skins and graffiti drops.
Select Weekly Drop Rewards in CS2

So, that’s all you need to know about the Weekly Care Package in CS2, which resets on Tuesday every week. Have you claimed the rewards for the last two weeks? Share your rewards in the comments below. We would love to know if you got rare skin drops via this weekly drops system.

If you are just starting out with Counter-Strike 2, you must check out the CS2 console commands list. Also, do not forget to check our quick Valorant to Counter-Strike 2 sensitivity converter guide if you are having trouble with mouse sensitivity in the new game.

    Frequently Asked Questions

Can anyone get the Weekly Care Package in CS2?

No. To be eligible for the Weekly Care Package rewards in Counter-Strike 2, you will need the Prime Status Upgrade. You can get the prime membership for $14.99 in CS2.

  • Lexar unveils 512 GB NM card for Huawei smartphones

Way back in 2018, Huawei introduced a proprietary memory card format called NM Card. It was a replacement for the micro SD card tech that had been a standard for modern smartphones, but is slowly fading away as brands keep leaving this feature behind. As cool as it may sound having a new kind of memory expansion tech for phones, the standard never achieved widespread adoption outside the Chinese maker’s own smartphones. Due to the limited number of devices, the demand was also small, and it’s no surprise that memory makers didn’t embrace the tech. With the recent rise of Huawei, Lexar decided to launch its own NM card with 512 GB of Internal Storage.

Huawei’s NM Card standard gets a new big offering

Despite the issues with the US ban that severely hurt Huawei’s access to technology, the company managed to bypass the crisis and survive by its own. Now, Huawei smartphone sales are apparently picking up again. So, Lexar decided to launch a new NM Card for the brand’s smartphones. The new card comes with 512 GB of Capacity, which certainly is a good chunk of storage space for those who plan to capture high-resolution videos.

The NM card is one-third smaller than the micro SD card and fits easily in the nano-SIM slot (This is why it stands as “Nano Memory Card”). This design is considered complex and present some technical difficulties for manufacturers. Ultimately, this could increase the manufacturing costs at a time when companies are trying to reduce them. Due to the lower offer, The cost of these nano memory cards is significantly higher than that of conventional micro SD cards. Meanwhile, their write speeds is also basically the same as a regular microSD card.

The Lexar card supports eMMC 5.1 protocol and offers a reading speed of 90 MB/s and a writing speed of up to 85 MB/s, which are nowhere near the speed of built-in storage. However, it’s enough for shooting 4K video on a Huawei smartphone. The 512 GB NM card is yet to be listed for sale. The price tag will be between $100 as the current 256 GB NM card sits between $50 and $80 at Vmall, Amazon, and some offline stores.

    Gizchina News of the week

    Lexar

Lexar investing on NM Card segment is a surprising move while the expansion cards are slowly fading away

In fact, it’s surprising to see Lexar return to the NM card bandwagon. In 2020, the company launched a couple of NM Cards, but didn’t revisit this range until now. On a business perspective, the company likely wants to explore this “unexplored” market to get some profit in the process. Meanwhile, most of the smartphone makers are slowly leaving the micro SD card slots behind, or making it something unique to low-end smartphones. There is basically no flagship that has support for micro SD card, and even mid-range phones like the recent Redmi Note 12 series phones are leaving that feature behind.

    Conclusion

The current UFS tech used in internal storage is way faster than micro SD cards. Also, storage is much cheaper nowadays with even basic phones starting with 128 GB. The need for a micro SD card to expand storage is dropping as companies keep pushing this tech away from consumers. Users are exploring other alternatives, and we have to agree that there are safer ones. While a micro SD card can easily start to malfunction after a certain period of time and usage, you can keep files safe on cloud storage services. Nowadays, for most users if the smartphone’s storage isn’t enough, this is the only alternative.

While it’s interesting to see a new NM Card from Lexar, we don’t think this will help Huawei to expand this technology outside of its own smartphones. The public will remain select for the time being.

  • Here are all the default and alternate costumes available during the upcoming Tekken 8 Closed Beta Test

The upcoming Tekken 8 Closed Beta Test is scheduled to take place starting on October 20 at 1 a.m. PT / 4 a.m. ET and last until October 23 at 12 a.m. PT / 3 a.m. ET. Those that participated in the last Closed Beta Test will automatically be able to participate in the upcoming beta period.

For this period of time, players will be given access to a roster of 19 characters consisting of Jin, Kazuya, Jun, Nina, Asuka, Law, Xiaoyu, King, Hwoarang, Paul, Lili, Bryan, Leroy, Jack-8, Feng, Caludio, Raven, Azucena, and Lars.

It would appear that each character will have three costumes available during the Closed Beta Test. Indeed, players will be able to choose between each fighter’s default appearance and two alternate costumes at the character select screen.

For a lot of these fighters, their alternate costumes reference their past appearances. For example, Kazuya’s alternates reference his default appearances from Tekken 7 and his iconic bare-chested costume.

Of course, the obvious exception here is Azucena who is making her debut appearance in Tekken 8. Her first alternate puts her in a bikini swimsuit while the other has her sporting a leather jacket and some bling.

  • Loki Season 2 Ouroboros: Who is OB?

Who is Ouroborus in Loki Season 2

Loki Season 2 Episode 1 is officially here, and guys, it’s such a thrill to watch our time-traveling God of Mischief back in action. With its first episode, Loki Season 2 started off with a bang, and I’m so happy to say that it really matched my expectations. With quite an action-packed opening sequence, top-notch VFX, the unmatched partnership of Mobius and Loki, and Loki’s signature style of cheating death narrowly, it was as good as it gets. However, this episode also had a lot of loose ends as well, for instance, we did meet Ouroboros or O.B., played by Ke Huy Quan, in Loki Season 2 Episode 1. But, who is O.B.? What is his origin story? And how does he tie into the Loki TV series or the Marvel universe?

Well, here I am, with the answers you might be looking for after watching Loki Season 2 Episode 1. In this article, I’m going deep dive into the Marvel Universe and let you know everything about the new Loki season 2 character, Ouroboros or OB. So without any further delay, let’s get into it!

Who is Loki Season 2’s Ouroboros?

    Loki Season 2 trailer
    Source: YouTube/Marvel Entertainment

Ouroboros’ name is a huge easter egg from Loki’s Norse mythological roots. In Norse mythology, Ouroboros is the name of a serpent who is depicted to be biting its own tail, and here comes the interesting part, Ouroboros is one of the three children of Loki.

Now, this could be an easter egg by Marvel that points toward a deeper connection yet to be set between Loki and O.B., or it could even be a symbolic reference as Ouroboros in Norse mythology is the symbol of the circle of life and death, and how this process never stops.

Loki Season 2 Ouroboros Marvel Reference

    Ouroboros

Now, if we look at Marvel Comics, we find a character named Mr. Ouroboros, who is a clone of Mr. Paradox and a Judge for the TVA just like Judge Renslayer who is one of the villains of the Loki series. Interestingly, he was responsible for the trial of She-Hulk in She-Hulk Vol 2 #3. Later, Mr. Paradox and Ouroboros were removed from time, or “pruned” using TVA’s most lethal weapon – the Retroactive canon.

Now we have seen O.B. working with Mobius in Loki Season 2 Episode 1, which has technically turned him into an enemy of essentially every season 1 villain, including Renslayer. And if she makes a comeback, which she certainly will, are we going to witness Ouroboros being literally blown out of all reality? I guess we will have to wait for more Loki season 2 episodes to find out.

    Loki Season 2 Ouroboros Future

Recently, in an interview with Blavity, the producer of Loki Season 2, Kevin Wright gave fans a hint regarding the inclusion of Ouroboros’ extensive role in the upcoming MCU beyond Loki Season 2. Wright stated that O.B. is “about to become a lot of people’s new favorite Marvel character” and will have an important role in unveiling the very roots of the TVA. In the interview, Kevin stated:

Ke is, I think, about to become a lot of people’s new favorite Marvel character…The short synopsis is…The TVA has a lot of amazing production design and computers and tech and like all of this stuff. And it made us go, all right, if we’re expanding out the world, the TVA, where’s all that coming from? Who’s keeping all of this old, old stuff running and it, and it’s OB–Ouroboros.”

Considering that statement, we can easily say that Loki Season 2 Ouroborous or O.B. is here to stay in MCU, and for good. Now if we are talking about new faces in Loki Season 2, we can’t just miss out on Rafael Casal, playing the role of Hunter X-5, who is going to play Brad Wolfie aka Zaniac in this series.

Overall, Loki Season 2 looks really good and, this was just the first episode. If it was this good, just think about what’s gonna happen next. The post-credit scene of Loki Season 2 also brought back Sylvie in quite an unexpected manner and that’s only exciting to think how this arc is going to unfold. However, lately, Marvel has developed a habit of ruining things people like, and I really hope they don’t do that to Loki as well. To find out if this ride is going uphill or downhill, we will have to wait till October 12, for Loki Season 2 Episode 2.

  • Someone has turned a pumpkin into a hitbox controller that actually works just in time for the Halloween season

The Halloween season is upon us here in October. It seems that a certain member of the fighting game community has come up with a rather unique way to celebrate this year.

Magik4 FGC has apparently transformed a pumpkin into a lever-less hitbox controller. There are four buttons to the left that have been mapped to the four directions as well as six buttons on the right for attacks.

In a quick clip, Magik4 FGC demonstrates that the face buttons have been wired. As such, it’s possible to attack using the light punch, medium punch, heavy punch, light kick, medium kick, and heavy kick buttons.

Magik4 FGC is referring to this device as a “pumpkinbox,” an obvious play on words involving the hitbox controller and a pumpkin. Funnily enough, Magik4 FGC has been hinting at the possibility of showing up at a local tournament near his area with the pumpkinbox in tow.

Based on the shape of the pumpkinbox, it looks to be surprisingly ergonomic. It should be fairly easy to hold one of these in a player’s lap while holding it steading with the left and right hands.

  • Genshin Impact 4.4 Leaks: Ganyu, Xingqiu Skins & New Region

We can all agree that Genshin Impact’s Fontaine region has been quite successful in keeping players entertained, a vast departure from the Sumeru desert exploration, which we’re sure no one wants to go to once they finish all the quests. Although lots of Fontaine expansions are still remaining in the lineup, with the next one coming in Genshin Impact 4.2, there’s another region to be excited about, and it’s been teased for a long time. A few leaks regarding the same coming in Genshin Impact 4.4 have surfaced online, so let’s look at all the juicy details about Genshin Impact Version 4.4 leaks.

Genshin Impact 4.4 Leaks: Chenyu Vale is Finally Coming?

Right from our arrival to Sumeru to the transition to Fontaine from the Desert, we’ve heard the region Chenyu Vale referenced a lot by NPCs. We’ve even heard the word back in Liyue where some characters refer to it as the best place for buying Tea. If you’re still confused, here’s the location of Chenyu Vale mapped on the game map.

    Chenyu Vale Location

From the dialogue, we can deduce it’s a region that lies in the middle of Sumeru and Fontaine and connects all three nations for trade. A lot of adventurers also mention that it’s easier to get to Fontaine via Chenyu Vale than traveling through the desert.

    Cloud Retainer and Madame Ping

We learned during the 3.4 Lantern Rite about Cloud Retainer, Guizhong, and Madame Ping, and the bond they shared with other Adepti and Zhongli, which was soon severed due to the Archon war. Cloud Retainer has been a fan favorite right from when she was introduced and fans have since then demanded to make her a playable character. Guess what, it may happen in Genshin Impact 4.4.

Genshin Impact Guizhong, Cloud retainer, madame ping
From right: Madame Ping, Guizhong, Cloud Retainer

Earlier leaks suggested Hoyo was confused between Madame Ping and Cloud Retainer, and it looks like they chose Cloud Retainer first. This doesn’t mean Madame Ping has been sidelined forever and will not arrive in the future. Cloud Retainer is expected to be an Anemo character and a Polearm user. Do take what we just said with a pinch of salt as there are still chances that none of this may end up happening. The information was taken from Reddit threads and leaks from reputed leakers such as Tao Lover.

    Ganyu and Xingqiu Skins

Details about the next skins surfaced just a month after the last skin dropped in the game, i.e., the skin of Da Wei’s favorite character Klee. It looks like we finally have some info about when the skins will be dropping, and surely enough, it might happen in Genshin Impact 4.4. Both are rumored to be four-star skins with Ganyu’s new outfit being purchasable in the shop and Xingqiu’s will probably be a free outfit.

Besides, leakers have also found out that new Zhongli, Qiqi, and Chongyun outfits are also in production, although they’re not very close to being released.

  • Xiaomi’s MiOS May Stay Exclusive in China, While MIUI 15 Heads Global

Recent reports from Digital Chat Station have stirred the tech world by suggesting that Xiaomi is gearing up to skip MIUI 15 and embrace a brand-new operating system named MiOS. But Xiaomiui, a dedicated blog tracking all things Xiaomi, disputes these claims, labeling them as unfounded and untrue.

Xiaomi’s Operating System Plans: Debunking MiOS Speculation and Focusing on MIUI 15

    MIUI 15

According to Xiaomiui‘s sources, Xiaomi is actively conducting internal testing for MIUI 15 and intends to unveil it alongside the Xiaomi 14 series. They further clarify that there is currently no substantial information about MiOS.

    Gizchina News of the week

However, should a transition occur, it will likely be confined to China. MiOS, if it materializes, would likely remain a domestic Android-based OS in the foreseeable future. For now, Xiaomi’s primary focus remains on fine-tuning MIUI 15 for its users.

Digital Chat Station’s assertion that MIUI 14 marks the final chapter in the MIUI saga has fueled speculation about the potential future of MiOS. It’s crucial to set the record straight: all such claims lack credibility. Xiaomi continues its rigorous testing process for MIUI 15, which is in development for a multitude of smartphones. Including Xiaomi 13, Xiaomi 13 Ultra, Redmi K60 Pro, MIX FOLD 3, and more.

Let’s clear the air by showcasing the latest internal builds of MIUI 15, sourced directly from Xiaomi’s official servers. These builds are reliable evidence of MIUI 15’s active development. In fact, the stable MIUI 15 release is on the horizon, set for the end of October.

In conclusion, the rumors surrounding MiOS are, as of now, baseless. Xiaomi’s unwavering commitment to MIUI 15 and its imminent release further reinforces the notion that MiOS may remain a distant possibility. Until October arrives, we’ll continue to provide you with all the latest updates on MIUI 15, so stay tuned for more exciting news and reports from Xiaomi in the upcoming few days!
