NEWS: Presidential Election Result: PDP Says It Would Be Heading to Court
By William Oyo-Ita 1 April 2015 11:42am
The ruling party, PDP says it would be challenging the results of the 2015 Presidential election. Dr Bello Fadile, the PDP agent who refused to sign the result sheet when called up by INEC Chairman, Prof Jega, told journalists in Abuja this morning that his signing the result sheet was inconsequential as they will be heading to court“Whether I sign it (the result sheet) or I don’t sign it, does not make any difference. It doesn’t invalidate the result. When we go to court, then we can challenge the result,” he said.
Dr Bello spoke on the affirmative that the party would be heading to the tribunal
“Sure! The party petitioned. Don’t forget. So the party will follow through the petition. There are rules for this. The law is there. The result was declared on the 1st of April, I think. We will follow the due process. Like the president (Jonathan) said, ‘If you have any grievances, follow due process and the due process in this instance is to go to the tribunal.”he said

NEWS: Orubebe Apologizes For His Behaviour Yesterday, Says He Regrets It
By William Oyo-Ita, 1 April 2015 11: 33
Former Niger Delta Affairs Minister Elder Godsday Orubebe has apologised for his behaviour at the collation centre in Abuja yesterday morning. Speaking with reporters last night, the PDP party agent, who held up proceedings and used abusive words on Jega, said he regretted his action and asked Nigerian to forgive his behaviour.
”Election is a passionate thing and I really regret what took place this morning. I was unnecessarily pushed by Jega to get to that level. I want to apologise particularly to young Nigerians that look up to take politics as a career to say that what happened was
not intended to cause them any embarrassment. To Nigerians generally, I regret my actions as even an elder in the church, and a leader, the young men expected to see a lot from me and I believe that if there was any disappointment they got from me I apologize to Nigerians and to the youths of this country.”
On President Jonathan conceding defeat, Orubebe said:
“Two things are in place. The president is the president of everybody. As a statesman and as a president; he has done what he should do.”
On whether the PDP will challenge the result, he said:
“I cannot decide for the PDP. It is a large family. We were sent on an errand to come back to report. We will go and report to the party and the party will take the necessary action it has to take.
You remember what happened in Ekiti’s governorship election when the governor congratulated his opponent and the party went back and said this is what they have seen. The candidate is not the party, he is a candidate and he has acted very well as a statesman, and as the president, the father of all. For us, we are agents to be here to see what transpired here and give report to them.”

NEWS: Statement by President Jonathan on presidential election 2015
By William Oyo-Ita 1 April 2015 7;30am
Official statement by president Jonathan after the announcement of the results of presidential election
Fellow Nigerians,I thank you all for turning out en-masse for the March 28 General Elections. I promised the country free and fair elections. I have kept my word. I have also expanded the space for Nigerians to participate in the democratic process. That is one legacy I will like to see endure.Although some people have expressed mixed feelings about the results announced by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), I urge those who may feel aggrieved to follow due process based on our constitution and our electoral laws, in seeking redress. As I have always affirmed, nobody’s ambition is worth the blood of any Nigerian. The unity, stability and progress of our dear country is more important than anything else.I congratulate all Nigerians for successfully going through the process of the March 28th General Elections with the commendable enthusiasm and commitment that was demonstrated nationwide.I also commend the Security Services for their role in ensuring that the elections were mostly peaceful and violence-free.To my colleagues in the PDP, I thank you for your support. Today, the PDP should be celebrating rather than mourning. We have established a legacy of democratic freedom, transparency, economic growth and free and fair elections. For the past 16 years, we have steered the country away from ethnic and regional politics. We created a Pan-Nigerian political party and brought home to our people the realities of economic development and social transformation.Through patriotism and diligence, we have built the biggest and most patriotic party in Nigerian history. We must stand together as a party and look to the future with renewed optimism.I thank all Nigerians once again for the great opportunity I was given to lead this country and assure you that I will continue to do my best at the helm of national affairs until the end of my tenure.I have conveyed my personal best wishes to General Muhammadu Buhari.May God Almighty continue to bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.I thank you all.

SPORTS: Too Much Hyping On Tottenham Hotspur Striker 'Harry Kane' May Dissipate His Performance In The Long-run. (Ekun Samuel)/ 6:51am.
Harry Kane known now to be 'The Man with the Midas Touch' is having a fine run of form with Tottenham Hotspur this season and is already been hyped and highly overrated by football pundits. Young and classy Kane has 29 goals for Spurs so far this season with His first International goal for England when he came on as a substitute making it 30 goals in total to his name this season. It's totally asburd when Football pundit 'Rodney Marsh' said “If Eliquiam Mangala is worth £30millon then Kane is worth £100million all day”, and went on to say he felt Harry Kane is better than Angel Di Maria. How could a young lad still playing under 21's in England in just his first season been used consistently as a striker with 29 goals to his name been compared to Angel Did Maria with 87 assist in 190 matches while playing for real Madrid. Of course players with time do have hiccups with highs and lows which could be as a result of external factors relating to off-field plays. Angel Di Maria is adapting to new environment with new players and new language, so it may not be rosy for him now but certainly has proven to be a fine player. The young lad 'Kane' is superb no doubt, but he hasn't been given yet the 'litmus test'. He hasn't played in various competitions in all wheather with different atmosphere as regarding the Champions league, European League, World Cup etc. Kane may have tested all parts of the pitch in England, has he done it abroad consistently. Patience with time, learning and experience with maturity and consistently been able to deliver when called up should be highly considered for the young lad. These and many more should be considered before been able to make comparisons with Tested and Proven Players. Tottenham already will be scratching their itching palms at the moment knowing fully well how good they are doing business with their best players. Is Kane worth been valued now at any cost??
