Oppo Find X7 Series Confirmed to Feature 1-inch Sony LYT-900 Sensor

After having success with the LYT-808, Sony fully unrolled the covers on the LYT-900 a couple of days back. For those who missed it, it’s a new flagship sensor that will be featuring dual-layer stacked technology. It will be replacing the current flagship Sony IMX989. And it seems that the Oppo Find X7 lineup will be among the very first devices to get this sensor.

Oppo has officially mentioned that the upcoming Find X7 series will be packing the brand new sensor. However, it’s highly likely that the top-end device from the lineup will feature the device. The base model could come with the LYT-808 that the recently launched OnePlus 12 and Realme GT5 Pro.

More Details About the Sony LYT-900 Sensor and Oppo Find X7 Series

Sony has recently shared some key specs of the LYT-900. As it’s expected from a flagship sensor, the LYT-900 will have a 1-inch sensor size. It will come with a pixel size of 1.6 μm and have an effective megapixel count of 50 MP. The 1.6 μm pixel size means the Oppo Find X7 phone featuring the sensor will have superior light-gathering capability.

With a stacked design, the Sony LYT-900 will offer the Find X7 device an increased area to gather more information about the shots. This will eventually lead to better low-light performance. Sony has also said that the Lytia lineup can deliver better autofocus performance.

The new sensors get that because they come with all-pixel AF technology. This feature will make the Oppo Find X7 with LYT-900 capable of capturing better portraits and landscape images.

In addition, the Oppo Find X7 with LYT-900 sensor will enjoy improved dynamic range. The new sensor is rated for 14.5 levels, which is a massive improvement over the IMX989. Along with the recent news about integrating the Hasselblad HyperTone system, things are looking really good for the upcoming series.
