As previously expected, the Oppo F29 and F29 Pro went official in India today. The new smartphones arrive with durable build, premium design, 5G and large batteries. Interestingly, they’re based on the Oppo A5 and A5 Pro that are currently available in China. With the release, Oppo opened the pre-orders in the country, with the first sale happening on March 30.
Oppo F29 5G Specifications
The Oppo F29 5G is built to last, with IP69, IP68, and IP66 water resistance. It can handle 18 different liquids, like coconut water and sports drinks, and works for 4 hours in -35°C cold. It has a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with FHD+ resolution and 120Hz refresh rate, powered by the Snapdragon 6 Gen 1 chip. The camera setup includes a 50MP main camera, a 2MP monochrome lens, and an 8MP front camera.
The phone packs a 6,500mAh battery with 45W fast charging. It is 7.7mm thin, weighs 185g, and has a strong aluminum frame, reinforced corners, and Gorilla Glass 7i for durability. Running ColorOS 15 on Android 15, it offers AI tools like Clarity Enhancer, Eraser, Reflection Remover, and Unblur.
Available in Solid Purple and Glacier Blue, the F29 5G costs INR 23,999 ($280/€255) for 8GB/128GB and INR 25,999 ($300/€280) for 8GB/256GB. Shipments start March 27.
F29 Pro 5G Specs
The Oppo F29 Pro 5G shares the same software and compact design as the F29 but offers a more premium build.
It features a quad-curved 6.7-inch AMOLED display, protected by Gorilla Glass Victus 2 for extra durability. The phone also has MIL-STD-810H certification, making it resistant to mold, solar radiation, and ice accumulation. For selfies, it upgrades to a 16MP front camera, an improvement over the 8MP sensor on the standard F29.
The Oppo F29 Pro 5G is powered by the MediaTek Dimensity 7300 chipset, paired with 8GB or 12GB RAM. The rear camera setup remains the same as the standard F29, featuring a 50MP main sensor alongside a 2MP monochrome sensor.
The Oppo F29 Pro 5G packs a 6,000 mAh battery with 80W SuperVOOC fast charging. Oppo claims it can charge 45% in just 20 minutes and remains functional even in extreme weather conditions.
Pricing and Availability
The Oppo F29 Pro 5G is available for pre-order in Marble White and Granite Black colors. Pricing starts at INR 27,999 ($325/€300) for 8/128 GB, INR 29,999 ($350/€320) for 8/256 GB, and INR 31,999 ($370/€340) for 12/256 GB. Shipping begins on April 1.
