OnePlus is preparing for a big launch event on January 7. The brand will unveil the OnePlus 13 and OnePlus 13R smartphones and introduce a new color for the OnePlus Buds 3 Pro. But that’s not all—OnePlus is reportedly working on a new smartwatch as well, the OnePlus Watch 3.
According to a report from Smartprix, the OnePlus Watch 3 is set for a global release in the first quarter of 2025. The smartwatch aims to offer more features and improved functionality. It is a strong contender in the competitive wearable tech market.
OnePlus Watch 3 Coming with ECG and Rotatory Dial
A render was also revealed and shows that the OnePlus Watch 3 keeps its stylish look but adds a new feature: a rotary dial. Similar to Apple’s Digital Crown, this dial makes navigation easier, especially when the touchscreen is hard to use, like with wet hands. The watch will also include ECG functionality, improving its health tracking features to compete with high-end models like the Samsung Galaxy Watch and Apple Watch. However, this feature may not be available everywhere due to local health regulations.
Another major feature is LTE connectivity, allowing the watch to work without a smartphone. Users could make calls, get notifications, and stream music directly on the watch. However, this feature might only launch in some regions at first, with China likely being one of them.
The Watch 3 will feature a Qualcomm Snapdragon W5 Gen 1 processor, 2GB of RAM, and 32GB of storage for strong performance. Battery size is unclear, with reports mentioning both 500mAh and 631mAh options. Like the previous model, it will run a dual OS system with WearOS for apps and RTOS for better efficiency.
The FCC listing suggests the Watch 3 (model OPWWE251) will measure 46.6 x 47.6 x 11.75mm. It is slightly larger than last year’s model. With FCC certification completed, a global launch could happen soon. Stay tuned for more updates!
