Realme and RedMagic are among the few manufacturers offering smartphones with 7,000 mAh or higher capacity batteries. However, they won’t be the only ones next year, as OnePlus and Redmi are expected to launch phones that match or exceed this high capacity.
A Closer Look Into Digital Chat Station’s Report About Upcoming Redmi and OnePlus Phones
The newly launched global RedMagic 10 Pro comes with a large 7,050 mAh battery, and Realme is gearing up to launch the Neo 7 with a 7,000 mAh battery. These are among the very few phones that come with such a high-rated capacity this year, but next year, phones from OnePlus and Redmi will be joining them.
As reported by prominent leaker Digital Chat Station, OnePlus and Redmi are gearing up to match the battery capacity benchmark set this year. For reference, the K80 Pro comes with a 6,550 mAh battery, while the OnePlus 13 sports a 6,000 mAh battery. Both of these new flagships, and they can offer respectable runtimes.
So, according to the latest report from Digital Chat Station, the OnePlus 14 and Redmi K90 Pro may get a decent battery upgrade. Of course, it’s unclear whether the fast-charging support will also see an upgrade. Another thing that the leaker hasn’t talked about is whether these phones will be thicker than this year’s flagships.
However, the chances of that happening are low, as Si/C batteries introduced with these year’s flagships didn’t increase the thickness of the phones. The same may be applicable to the upcoming devices, and even if the devices get a bit thicker, the improved battery runtime will be worth it.
Digital Chat Station adds that Chinese manufacturers are also working to introduce phones featuring 8,000 mAh battery. It’s possible that Realme will be the first to bring out a smartphone that features such a high capacity, as it is generally among the first to introduce battery improvements.
