Spangram Answer for NYT Strands on May 3
The Spangram for today’s NYT Strands puzzle is GREENS, and it runs from left to right on the letters grid.
Apart from the Spangram, you need to find 6 theme words in today’s puzzle. However, if you are having a tough time getting through the Strands, check out some tips and tricks in my guide on how to play NYT Strands.
Anyway, with that being said, let’s go to the next section. However, proceed only if you are ready to check out the theme words.
List of Theme Words for NYT Strands on May 3
If you have scrolled this far, you are probably ready to see the answers. So, let’s take a look at today’s theme words in Strands:
- FOREST
- JUNGLE
- OLIVE
- PISTACHIO
- EMERALD
- ARTICHOKE
Like I said, I was initially looking for synonyms of the word ‘envy’, only to find nothing. Even finding JUNGLE in the bottom left wasn’t much help. When I found FOREST and OLIVE though, I realized what the theme meant. Green is the color of envy, and we do have a great idiom to back that up. Anyway, turns out, the Spangram for the day is GREENS.
However, it wasn’t easy for me to recall the different shades of green. Hence, even though I knew what the round today was about, I was stuck here for a good couple of minutes. Fortunately, I came across PISTACHIO in the bottom right. The last couple of unsolved grids were quite painful to solve though. After trying multiple combinations, I found ARTICHOKE and facepalmed hard at that. Well, that’s my Strands for the day, and somehow I didn’t have to use a hint. I was this close though.
