Google’s Circle to Search feature, launched earlier this year, is now available for three Nothing smartphones: Nothing Phone (2), Nothing Phone (2a), and Nothing Phone (2a) Plus.
To use Circle to Search on these devices, long-press the Home button if you’re using 3-button navigation. If you’re using gesture-based navigation, long-press the navigation bar instead. You can adjust settings for this feature by going to Settings > Special features > Gestures > Navigation mode > Circle to Search on your phone.
Circle to Search Reaches More Nothing Phones Running Nothing OS 3.0
If you’re unable to use the Circle to Search feature on your Nothing phone, it’s important to make sure your device is running the latest software updates. For the Nothing Phone (2), you need to be on Nothing OS 3.0 with build number Pong-V3.0-241207-0124. For the Nothing Phone (2a), the required version is Nothing OS 3.0 with build number Pacman-V3.0-241210-2057. Both of these
models have already received the stable Nothing OS 3.0 update, which is based on Android 15. If your device is not updated to these versions, the Circle to Search feature may not be available. Make sure your phone is up to date to take full advantage of this feature.
The Nothing Phone (2a) Plus is still in beta, so the Circle to Search feature is only available on units running the beta build PacmanPro-V3.0-241126-1448. Nothing has announced that the stable update for this model will arrive in early 2025. Hence, users of the beta version can expect the official stable release soon.
