Minecraft Winter Drop: What’s New?
The Pale Garden biome is the latest biome added to the game with the Winter Drop update. This biome is mostly found near Dark Oak Forest. You will find a new wood type called the Pale Oak Log in this eerie-looking forest that looks similar to a willow tree. The woods have the same family of craftable items as you would find in other wood types.
Another creepy addition to this biome is a hostile mob called the Creaking. If you dare to enter the Pale Garden at night, you might encounter the Creaking, looking similar to a tree with eyes. At this moment, if you try to take your eyes away from the monster, it will catch up to you and smack you doing damage worth one full heart.
Hitting the Creaking won’t do him any damage as you need to destroy the Creaking Heart hidden in one of the Pale Oak Trees nearby. We have a dedicated guide on defeating the Creaking if you ever face difficulty in this region.
Other new additions in this Minecraft Winter Drop include the Eyeblossom flowers and a material called Resin. The Eyeblossom flowers have two variants — Open and Closed. They react uniquely to the changing environment. Resin, on the other hand, is only generated in clumps on the Pale Oak logs the moment you hit a Creaking.
With these clumps, you can make blocks of Resin that can be used to create a Creaking Heart. Other uses are making Bricks, Resin Brick blocks, Brick stairs, slabs, and walls as well. Furthermore, with Resin Bricks, you can now use them as a Smithing Template to add orange-colored patterns to your armor pieces.
This is everything new being introduced in the latest Minecraft Winter Drop. Do check out this scary and eerie-looking biome where everything seems to lose its color, even the sky as you set foot in the Pale Garden. Make sure you always carry a light source if you are daring enough.
Lastly, if you’re having trouble finding this latest biome, go have a look at our guide on how to find the Pale Garden in Minecraft. Moreover, the fact that this biome arrived as an experimental feature alongside the Bundles of Bravery drop, we can expect Mojang to release the next drop alongside the Winter Drop tomorrow.
