Television shows featuring survival themes have been grabbing everyone’s attention lately, especially after the release of Squid Game. Yellowjackets is one such show that follows the same concept. It has blessed us with two seasons so far, and a third season is around the corner. It’s no wonder fans are getting curious about the cast and characters of the television series. Here, we talk about Yellowjackets cast and characters we have seen so far in the TV show.
1. Melanie Lynskey as Shauna Sadecki
Shauna Sadecki is one of the pivotal characters of Yellowjackets. Since childhood, she has been someone who is good at keeping every emotion inside her until the feelings burst out in the open in the form of revenge. She led a normal life until the plane carrying the soccer players to the nationals crashed, leaving everyone on the brink of death. However, she fortunately survives, but the trauma doesn’t let her live peacefully in adulthood. So, her cold behavior makes her daughter hate her.
2013’s The Book Thief plays young Shauna in the television series, and Melanie Lynskey portrays the adult Shauna. Lynskey was also appreciated with the Critic’s Choice Award for Best Actress in a Drama Series for portraying this complex character.
2. Sammi Hanratty/Christina Ricci as Misty Quigley
Despite being the Equipment manager for the WHS Yellowjackets team, Misty never received any appreciation from her peers. So, she always craved attention until the plane crash, which let Misty show her worth to the members of the soccer team who tried to survive the brutal incident. However, the neglected behavior of others toward her pushed her to become someone she never wanted to be. Moreover, she also developed some mental issues that eventually made her one of the disgusting characters in the television series.
Sammi Hanratty plays the character in her childhood, and Christina Ricci is seen in the adult Misty’s shoes. The former appeared in the second and third seasons of The Suite Life of Zack & Cody, and the latter previously worked in The Addams Family, Casper, and more.
3. Sophie Thatcher/Juliette Lewis as Natalie Scatorccio
Natalie, also called Nat by her schoolmates, was a soccer player who, most of the time, was lashed out by the other team members for consuming too much alcohol and doing drugs. However, despite being involved in all the bad things that kids of her age should avoid, she was the most empathetic person who would stand for anyone in need. As an adult, Natalie was still seen as an alcoholic and a druggie until life gave her a fair chance to start fresh. Unfortunately, she died in the Yellowjackets Season 2 finale, so the third season won’t see her make a comeback.
Yellowjackets see Sophie Thatcher as the young Natalie and Juliette Lewis as her adult version. You may remember Thatcher from The Boogeyman and the latter from her work in Cape Fear.
4. Courtney Eaton/Simone Kessell as Lottie Matthews
Lottie Matthews is a supporting character in Yellowjackets cast who suffers from schizophrenia, which scares her by making her experience strange visions. In most of the cases, her visions eventually come true. For instance, after the plane crash in the wilderness, she warned some of her friends not to go far as she witnessed a river filled with blood. But the girls decided to ignore her, and they encountered a red river on their way.
Courtney Eaton portrays the character as a teenager, and Simone Kessell plays her in adulthood. Eaton has previously appeared in Mad Max: Fury Road and Gods Of Egypt.
5. Jasmin Savoy Brown/Tawny Cypress as Taissa Turner
Taissa Turner has been an ambitious girl since her childhood. She had some incredible leadership skills that helped her take the lead when she was a member of her high school soccer team. After growing up, she takes on the role of the New Jersey state senator. She lives with her female partner and their son Sammy and does everything to prevent their life from getting affected by traumatic past experiences.
The American actress Jasmin Savoy Brown is seen as the young Tai, and Tawny Cypress is the adult version of the character. The former is popularly recognized for her appearances in 2022 and 2023’s Scream movies. Cypress is known for her roles in TV Shows like House of Cards, Heroes, and Unforgettable.
6. Liv Hewson/Lauren Ambrose as Vanessa “Van” Palmer
Vanessa Palmer was one of the girls to have survived the tragic plane crash. She was secretly involved in a romantic relationship with Tai. She was a girl who would never develop a hatred for someone, but when Jackie failed to help her after the accident, she started hating her.
Liv Hewson stars as the young Van and Lauren Ambrose takes on the role of the adult version of the character. Hewson gained recognition from the Santa Clarita Diet series and Ambrose is widely known for her work in Six Feet Under as Claire Fisher.
7. Kevin Alves/Andres Soto as Travis Martinez
Son of the head coach of the girls’ soccer team at Wiskayok High School, Travis, joins the girls on their trip to the nationals. However, it doesn’t seem like a good idea as his world turns upside down when the plane carrying all the members of WHS Yellowjackets crash lands in the wilderness. The character is already dead in Yellowjackets, so we will not be able to see him in the upcoming season of the television show.
The Brazillian-Canadian actor Kevin Alves played the young Travis, and the role was later passed on to Andres Soto. The latter is popularly known for her roles in The Good Doctor, Dragged Across Concrete, and more.
8. Jack Depew/Warren Kole as Jeff Sadecki
Jeff Sadecki was the boyfriend of the captain of WHS Yellowjackets, ie. Jackie. However, he cheats her with her best friend Shauna and impregnates her. Following Jackie’s death, Jeff gets married to Shauna but he couldn’t be loyal in this relationship as well. He cheats on Shauna with a woman named Bianca.
Jack Depew plays the character in his teen years, and Warren Kole takes on the role in his adulthood. Kole grabbed a massive fandom after appearing in Common Law, the USA Network’s original series.
9. Charlie Wright/Sean Martin Savoy as Kevyn Tan
Kevyn Tan was Natalie’s best friend in high school. He was usually seen hanging out with Natalie until the latter’s father accused them of having a relationship. He somehow manages to flee from Natalie’s home but also eventually becomes the reason behind his best friend’s father’s death.
Charlie Wright plays the teenager Kevyn, while the adult version of the character is portrayed by Sean Martin Savoy. Sean Savoy is globally renowned for his performances in A Maple Valley Christmas and Gingerbread Miracle, while Charlie Wright is praised for Better Things, Ingrid Goes West, and more.
10. Ella Purnell as Jackie Taylor
Jackie Taylor was the charismatic leader of WHS Yellowjackets who didn’t like when the team members disobeyed her. She was Shauna’s best friend and liked to dominate her every now and then. Shauna was never interested in playing soccer, but Jackie influenced her to join WHS Yellowjackets. Jackie was the first character to die in the television series.
Jackie was portrayed by none other than Ella Purnell, who is best known for lending her voice to the critically acclaimed character Jinx in Arcane. She has also appeared in some popular projects like Fallout, Sweetpea, and more.
