Manchester United are looking to remodel their squad to fit in with Ruben Amorim’s preferred tactics to fight their way back up the league table.
Currently sat in 14th place, the current United squad, including £206 million of purchases this summer, are failing to deliver results or fit into Amorim’s 3-4-3 system, having been assembled for a 4-2-3-1 under Erik ten Hag.
The trickiest roles to adapt to the new playstyle have been the wings, and whilst Amad Diallo is thriving on the right flank, the left side still needs some work.
Luke Shaw is yet again injured, with Diogo Dalot continuing to cover the role. However, this isn’t sustainable or optimal for United to be fighting for the top spots consistently.
As such, The Red Devils are scouring Europe for a left-wing-back, identifying targets like Milos Kerkez, Alphonso Davies and Theo Hernandez.
However, another star United are currently considering is Girona’s Miguel Gutierrez.

Manchester United will have to wait for Miguel Gutierrez
United’s interest in the left-back goes back to the summer, when the Premier League side were expected to sign to the position considering their ongoing injury woes.
However, nothing came of the interest, with the club deciding to continue monitoring the 23-year-old.
Well, United are still interested, however they might have to hang on a little while longer.
Mundo Deportivo has reported that Girona have ruled out a winter move for Gutierrez, with the left-back being vital in their current campaigns.
With two goals and five assists in 24 games, the defender has been consistently used in their first ever Champions League run, with the LaLiga side holding eighth place in the Spanish top tier.
However, this isn’t ruling out a move altogether, as the Spanish club understand that with such wide interest from Europe, it will be hard for them to retain their star in the summer.
