Jaap Stam has revealed his interest in managing in Scotland, with a well-known United legend.
The former Manchester United defender has already experienced management in several countries.
Stam has coached clubs like Reading, Feyenoord, and FC Cincinnati during his managerial journey.
Currently, Stam is in charge of DOS Kampen, a team in the sixth tier of Dutch football.
However, the iconic defender remains open to new challenges and opportunities in the game.
Speaking to BoyleSports, Stam shared his admiration for the Scottish football scene.
“My assistant at Reading, Andries Ulderink, is now working for Rangers, he’s a good guy,” Stam said.
“There have been a lot of Dutch managers and players over there, including Dick Advocaat.”

Stam reflected on past connections to Scottish football and opportunities he had earlier in his career.
“When I was working with Advocaat at PSV, he tried to bring me to Rangers,” Stam revealed.
“Unfortunately for him, United came in for me the same summer,” he continued.
“I’ve always followed Scottish football.
“When I played for Willem II, I had the chance to join Celtic.”
“Both Celtic and Rangers are great clubs,” he said.
“One day I’d love to manage in Scotland, maybe for Rangers or Celtic or for another club.”
As the conversation shifted to his ambitions, Stam expressed a desire to return to a higher level.
Stam also mentioned a dream scenario in which he could work alongside a former teammate.

The Dutchman admitted he would love to be Roy Keane’s assistant.
“I would love to see Roy Keane back in management and I’d love to be his assistant manager,” Stam said.
“I think he has the potential to be a great manager.
“He knows so much about the game.”
Keane, who hasn’t managed since leaving Ipswich Town in 2011, remains a respected figure in football.
“He can give a lot of individual advice to players and how they can improve,” Stam added.
“The decision will be up to him; he’s doing well in punditry at the moment.”
Stam acknowledged the challenges of management but backed Keane to thrive if he returned.
“It’s a very different life in management, day and night, you have to be ready for the lifestyle,” Stam said.
Despite enjoying punditry, Keane has hinted at being open to returning to the dugout.
Stam made it clear that he would happily join Keane’s coaching staff if the opportunity arose.
“I’d love to see him in the dugout again.
“If he needs an assistant, then I’ll be there,” he concluded.
