INEC’s threatening circulars to RECs of 36 states |
12 July 2019
There has been arguments and counter-arguments around the idea that the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC Nigeria’s electoral umpire has an electronic server to which election results were sent to during the 2019 general elections. PDP’s presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar and the PDP have submitted in the election tribunal court that INEC used electronic server during the election but INEC is denying that it did not have.
Reno Omokri the former media aide to former president of Nigeria, Goodluck Jonathan has supplied this proof on his Twitter account, @renoomokri.
Omokri’s evidence which he calls ‘incontrovertible proof’ shows INEC’s manual to its staff, giving them step by step instructions for their conduct on Election Day. Notice steps 5 and 6. In another Tweet, Omokri’s proof shows a circular from INEC to its 36 Resident Electoral Commissioners, threatening sanctions on RECs who fail to send data to INEC HQ through their server.
Twenty four hours after this proofs leaked to the Internet, INEC is yet to deny the certainty of @renoomokri’s submission.
