Where to Find Dunkleosteus in Fisch
The Dunkleosteus fish is found in the recently introduced island, the Ancient Isles. This island is located far away to the east of Moosewood island, specifically at these XYZ coordinates: 5833, 125, 401. To reach this Ancient island, get a Fisch GPS and follow the steps below:
- Interact with the Shipwright of your island and spawn your fastest boat.
- Now, head out into the ocean and you will notice the text Ancient Isles written on top of your screen in yellowish-green font.
- Keep going in the direction of this text, and you will soon enter the Nearby Ancient Isles region.
- Be very careful, as this region is filled with obstacles. They might appear on the surface at any random moment.
- Steer carefully through the obstacles to reach the island. Alternatively, you may use the Jetski or the Luxury Speedboat to move past these obstacles swiftly, and the bombs or spikes won’t be activated.
- Finally, as you reach the island, head to the western side, where you will find a waterfall. Activating the fish radar will show that this region has an abundance of Xiphactinus.
This area is the best farming location to catch the legendary and mythical fish of this island, including the Dunkleosteus.
How to Get The Dunkleosteus in Fisch
Now that you have reached the Ancient Isles and standing in front of the waterfall, you can cast out your best fishing rod and wait until the Dunkleosteus gets hooked. However, keep in mind the following conditions to have the best chance at getting this fish:
- Favourite Bait: Minnow
- Time: Day
- There are no weather or Seasonal preferences for this fish.
Once the fish gets hooked, it will put a negative 35% progress speed on your rod. So, consider fishing with the Rod of the Depths or the No-Life rod if you are a late-game player. If you have unlocked all the new craftable rods, then the Rod of the Eternal King or the Forgotten Fang is the best choice.
However, if you are a mid-game player like me, you will have a lot of options to choose from, including the Sunken Rod, Trident Rod, King’s Rod, or even the Steady Rod will do the task. Enchanting your rods with Hasty, Steady, or Controlled will make your experience easier but this is purely optional since the Dunkleosteus is fairly easy to get.
Having caught the fish, it will give you 2000 XP and 2450 cash on average once you sell it to the Merchant. This shows that you can fish in the Ancient Isles to level up quickly in the game.
