After a wait of almost one and a half years, House of the Dragon season 2 teaser has finally been released. As anticipated, season 2 will showcase the brewing war between kins. For those who have forgotten, House of the Dragon Season 1 ended with the gruesome death of Lucerys Velaryon, Princess Rhaenyra Targaryen’s (Emma D’Arcy) son. The House of the Dragon Season 2 teaser opens with Otto Hightower (Rhys Ifans) accepting that errors were made in the hours following the death of King Viserys. Princess Rhaenys Targaryen (Eve Best) warns Rhaenyra by saying “There is no war so hateful to the gods as a war between kin — and no war so bloody as a war between dragons.”
“The war will be fought. Many will die and the victor will eventually ascend the throne” – Alicent Hightower
The 60-second teaser also shows two massive dragons going at each other in the great war between the two factions of House Targaryen.

House of the Dragon Season 2 Release Date
While the teaser does not mention any official release date, it is widely believed that House of the Dragon Season 2 will premiere on HBO Max in the summer of 2024. Now that the first teaser has dropped, we can expect the official release date to be around May or June in 2024. It is expected that season 2 will also have 10 episodes similar to the first season.
