2025 is set to be the best year for the video games industry, thanks to the highly anticipated release of Grand Theft Auto 6. But with only a few months remaining, we are yet to see more of the game. Will There Be a GTA 6 Trailer 2?
Before we get into the expectations and speculations, a question remains whether Rockstar will share a new trailer for GTA 6. If we go by Rockstar Games’ pattern, there have been no incidents where they released a game with only one trailer.
In the GTA 6 trailer 1, we see a detailed look at GTA 6 Vice City and the locations that will be featured in the upcoming game. We also get the first look at Lucia in GTA 6 and learn a little more about her story.
However, we have yet to learn more about the other parts of the map and, obviously, more about the male protagonist. Rockstar Games may share gameplay or a story trailer to reveal more about the character in detail. In one of the earnings calls, parent company Take-Two Interactive said that Rockstar Games will share more about Grand Theft Auto 6 when they are ready.
Shortly before this, Rockstar Games updated the GTA 6 trailer page website to a video page. This clearly means the website will have multiple videos, and the developers are setting it up for this.
If you scroll down the Rockstar Games home page, you will notice a section for each game labeled ‘Videos from…’, which ensures the possibility of more videos for Grand Theft Auto 6. So, it is guaranteed that there will be a GTA 6 new trailer before the game releases. But when?
Expected GTA 6 Trailer 2 Release Date
Well, GTA 6 trailer 1, was released on December 5, 2023, 1.5 years ago. Although the original planned date was December 12, we got to see it earlier due to a leak. Since then, the trailer video on YouTube gathered over 245 million views. But why haven’t we got the official GTA Trailer 2 yet?
Well, we believe the main reason is that the GTA 6 trailer 2 must contain the game’s exact release date. Now, given that many rumors suggest the game might be delayed to 2026, Rockstar may hold onto the trailer for a while.
Although there are no confirmations, some sources suggest that we might have had the GTA 6 trailer 2 release date in front of us all along. According to a post on X by @GTA6Alerts, we might actually have a release date for the next GTA trailer.
The post suggests that the GTA Online T-shirt leak text “One Day Will Reveal All” has 040125 written on it. This means that the GTA 6 trailer 2 might come out on April 1, 2025. GTA Online giving GTA 6 trailer hints is nothing new. Remember that the same T-shirt accurately hinted at the trailer 1 release date almost two years ago.
Analysis from the GTAVIoclock podcast supports the prediction that GTA 6 marketing will begin in April. They point to Rockstar Games’ historical marketing patterns for Red Dead Redemption 2 and Grand Theft Auto 5, where campaigns launched roughly six months prior to release. Given Take-Two’s confirmation of a fall 2025 release for GTA 6, April aligns with this precedent.
What Can We Expect From GTA 6 Trailer 2?
GTA 5 trailer 2 was released on November 14, 2012, one year after Grand Theft Auto V trailer 1. If we go by this format, trailer 2 for the upcoming GTA game should already be out. In GTA 5 trailer 2, we got a detailed focus on the game’s key characters, including Michael, Franklin, and Trevor. With the focus on them, the trailer also briefly explains the story and its major plots.
If Rockstar Games follows the same method, we might get a look into the story of GTA 6 with the new trailer. Grand Theft Auto 6 is supposed to be in the state of Leonida, which will be the biggest map so far in the franchise. So, a quick showcase of all the other parts of the state can be expected in trailer 2. Moreover, a showcase of the male protagonist, or the dynamic of Bonne and Clyde, could be the focal point of GTA 6 trailer 2.
