Grand Theft Auto characters have always tended to make a mark on gamers. Over the years, iconic GTA characters like CJ, Niko, Tommy, Michael, and even Trevor have shaped the franchise to what it is now. As such, it’s no surprise that GTA 6 characters are one of the most awaited elements in the upcoming game. GTA 6 Main Characters
The main protagonists in any of the Grand Theft Auto games are key to unfolding the story and building the new world. In GTA 6, the two main protagonists will be Lucia and an unknown male character. The multiple playable character template started with GTA 5 and will continue in the sequel. While Lucia was confirmed in the first GTA 6 trailer, the male protagonist’s name is still doubtful.
With the game featuring two playable protagonists, you should have the option to switch between them. However, we can expect a level-locked system to prevent you from switching earlier in the story. The official poster shows an anklet on Lucia’s leg that could hint at her being the initial playable character.
We also know the game will follow a Bonnie and Clyde-style story, which is also showcased in the trailer. The trailer further confirms the main protagonists’ relationship and criminal acts. In earlier GTA 6 leaked gameplay clips, we saw the main characters resembling the iconic crime couple.
Lucia
In the first trailer, Lucia is shown as the female protagonist of GTA 6. The trailer revolves around her story. Although we still have no clue if the trailer is shown chronologically, we can expect the game to start from her time in prison. Throughout the story, we will get some backstory of her pre-prison life. This could follow the template of GTA 5, with the prologue appearing in the story more often.
As of now, Manni L. Perez is predicted to provide the voice for Lucia. Since there is no confirmation, Alexandra Cristina Echavarri and Leslie Lluvet are also possibilities for the role of Lucia’s voice actor in GTA 6. Nonetheless, we can confirm that Lucia will be the franchise’s first Latina female protagonist.
Jason (The Male Protagonist)
The first trailer also shows the male protagonist of GTA 6, but we do not have an official name yet. Some leaked old files suggested that the protagonist’s name would be Jason. In the trailer, we see him helping Lucia with all the criminal activities.
Some speculations suggest that Jason is a part of the Leonida state police and will be a double agent. Although he only says “Trust” in the trailer, some fans predict that Jason’s voice actor will be Bryan Zampella or Troy Baker. However, Troy Baker has already denied his involvement in GTA 6.
Other Confirmed GTA 6 Characters
In the trailer, we see many unique characters who can be just NPCs from the game. However, some of the particular characters are shown as if they are essential to the story. One such character is Stefanie G, a character employed by the Leonida Department of Corrections. Her significance in Lucia’s life post-release remains unclear. She is the first speaker in the GTA 6 trailer.
Although we know about only two playable characters, leaked files suggested that there might be two more. So, if we follow the leaked GTA 6 dev menu, we can expect a total of four characters. The other two playable characters, as per the leaks, are Billy and Kai. The Gold Chain Guy we see in the trailer is speculated to be Kai from the leaked files.

GTA 6 Returning Characters
Given that Grand Theft Auto 6 is set in Vice City, characters like Kent Paul, originally voiced by Danny Dyer, might reappear. Although Tommy Vercetti’s return is improbable due to Ray Liotta’s passing.
Leaked footage reveals a building labeled ‘Navaro Shipping Terminal,’ situated south of the Rockridge Neighborhood Service Center. This ‘Navaro’ refers to Ray Navarro, a minor character from GTA V employed by Devon Westin.
It’s worth noting that the in-game website for GTA V spells his name with only one ‘r.’ The leaked files also hint at the involvement of Jay Norris from GTA 5 (the former Life Invader CEO), which confirms that the GTA 6 universe is based in the HD era of GTA 4 and 5.
