Now, Corning has launched an innovation in the protection of smart devices with the introduction of Gorilla Glass Ceramic which offers enhanced protection as it is more durable and resistant to drop and impact when compared to older versions.
Corning Unveils the Revolutionary Ceramic Gorilla Glass: A Game Changer in Device Protection
The new Gorilla Glass Ceramic has passed the most intensive testing there is. In lab tests, it endured ten drops from one meter onto coarse asphalt and did not break. Unlike its predecessors, it did not shatter. The reason for this boastful strength is the infusion of ceramic materials which increase durability and toughness.

Enhancing Protection of Smart Devices
This innovation is furthering the legacy of Corning glass by adding more protective features. The other device which makes use of these glass voyager models is the Apple device which makes use of the ceramic shield while Samsung’s glory s25 series uses the gorilla armor 2. Other brands are also working on the ceramic protection such as HONOR which has a Magic 7 Pro that comes with nano crystal shield.
First Device to Use Glass Ceramic
Corning has stated that a Motorola gadget will be the first to have Gorilla Glass Ceramic, but the company chose to remain mum about if it will be a smartphone, tablet, or something else. In the coming months, more information is anticipated.
What This Means for the Future
With these improvements, tablet and smartphone users will be looking forward to having screens that are tougher and more resistant to damage. The concerns over unintentional drops and scrapes will be less worrying. With continuous developments in technology, smart devices will increasingly become durable.
