Corning periodically upgrades its Gorilla Glass portfolio with the launch of flagships. This time, it has introduced the Gorilla Armor with the debut of the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. As we’ve covered before, one of the improvements is that the new protection glass can reduce reflection by up to 75%.
With it, Corning wanted to ensure better clarity and enhanced viewing experience on the Galaxy S24 Ultra. This improvement may sound like a gimmick. But it has just been tested against the Apple iPhone 15 Pro Max. In the real-life test, the new protection glass shined in terms of delivering a much better viewing experience.

The image also shows the image clarity level of the two. As you might’ve noticed from the attached image, the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra looks very vibrant. Of course, you can argue that the iPhone 15 Pro Max has a different panel than Samsung’s flagship.
Even so, the image on the iPhone 15 Pro Max appears much darker than the Samsung Galaxy S24 Ultra. Another thing to note is that the image is taken inside an indoor environment. The difference could be much higher in an outdoor environment with harsh sunlight.
Nonetheless, the conclusion is that the reflection reduction feature that Samsung and Corning are promoting isn’t a gimmick. And it would be very interesting to see what Corning brings up next. You can read more about Gorilla Armor in our in-depth discussion found in this link.
