Let’s be honest: 2024 was a fantastic year for video games. With so many amazing releases, it left a good taste in our mouths. However, if the exciting news is anything to go by, 2025 is going to be an absolute blast for gaming. With titles like GTA 6 and Doom: The Dark Ages coming to our consoles and PCs very soon, it will be a hell of a ride. Want to know what’s in store for gamers this year? Some of the biggest releases I am excited about in April 2025 are titles like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 and Forza Horizon 5. However, there is a wait, as both these games will come towards the end of the month.

As a big Doom guy (pun intended), I am eagerly awaiting May 15 for Doom: The Dark Ages to drop on my PS5. And while I have only seen the movie, Dune: Awakening should be an exciting launch, too. Some of the other games launching in May 2025 are:

Games Releasing in June 2025
June 2025 is chock-full of Nintendo Switch 2 games. Having been announced recently, the Switch 2 brings many AAA titles to the simple handheld factor. This is, by far, an amazing feat as we will get to see the likes of Cyberpunk 2077 and Hogwarts Legacy in the Nintendo ecosystem. Oh, and who can forget about Death Stranding 2? This is where things decide to get a little thin. Currently, there aren’t many games with a confirmed September 2025 release date. Nonetheless, we have two of the most solid upcoming video game launches that I personally am looking forward to. These are:

Games Releasing in November-December 2025
This area is what we call the great void. Currently, there are almost zero games with a confirmed release date for the tail end of the year. Fear not, however, as that’s normal. As the year drags on, developers will provide more information or not as they have Rockstar’s baby, GTA 6, to fear.
