So far in the story, only six hunters have been officially recognized and given the title of National Level Hunters in Solo Leveling. Before you proceed, we suggest reading about the origins of the hunter ranking system and how National Level Hunters are recognized in our dedicated guide.
6. Antoine Martinez
For a long time, the fifth hunter who was one of the survivors of Kamish’s wrath was never known. He was known as the unknown healer who became a national-level hunter without being a vessel of any ruler. That was some insane feat to make it into the national-level hunters league not inheriting any power of a ruler. Now, his name is revealed to be Antoine Martinez according to the origin of Thomas Andre. If things go right, we will learn more about him in the upcoming chapters of Solo Leveling: Ragnarok.
5. Siddharth Bachchan
India had one of the strongest hunters to represent their country which was none other than Siddharth Bachchan. Siddharth was India’s best hunter and climbed all the way up to secure the title of a national-level hunter. Like Jinwoo, Siddharth wanted to protect everyone as Liu Zhigang mentioned Siddharth had a savior complex. Siddharth’s power was never showcased in Solo Leveling and we don’t know his hunter class.
Since he was also one of the vessels of the rulers, we know that he possessed the Ruler’s Authority and Spiritual Body Manifestation abilities. In Solo Leveling Ragnarok, Siddharth spiraled to darkness in his quest for power. As a result, he was killed in the events of the sequel. Still, Siddharth ranked as the 4th most powerful hunter prior and should not be taken lightly.
4. Christopher Reed
Apart from Thomas Andre, there was one more powerful S-Rank hunter hailing from America. Christopher Reed who was recognized as the third strongest hunter in the world also rose up to the position of a national-level hunter along with his fellow country hunter. Mr. Reed was a solitary individual with an unyielding will. As he was killed by the Monarchs we never got to see any of his powers.
We don’t know whether he was a tanker or a fighter but charged in the face of his death when the Monarchs came knocking. It was unfortunate to meet him during his end. The only thing we knew about his hunter career was that he was also a vessel of the ruler. That bestowed upon him the Ruler’s Authority and Spiritual Body Manifestation abilities as his fellow national-level hunters.
3. Liu Zhigang
Next to Thomas Andre, Liu Zhigang, the Chinese hunter stood tall as the second most powerful hunter of this generation. Before Sung Jinwoo’s ascendance, Liu was widely known as Asia’s strongest hunter for a reason. Similar to the other top 4 hunters, Liu also became a vessel of a ruler which gifted him with various sets of incredible power and abilities.
In addition to Ruler’s Authority and Spiritual Body Manifestation, the major highlight of Liu was his masterful swordsmanship. He moved at lightning speeds and danced with his sword effortlessly as seen during the Jeju Island arc. Indeed he was a master of the blade who was seeking fights to death. Liu is one of the beloved national-level hunters whose class and power speak for themselves.
2. Thomas Andre
Who could forget this beast of a hunter from Solo Leveling? Thomas Andre was a man of his word and rightfully sat at the top as the world’s strongest hunter until he met Jinwoo. He was also the vessel of a ruler and remained the epitome of raw strength in the series. He wasn’t always this strong from the beginning as Thomas also rose to the top of the world from being considered a weak hunter in the eyes of society.
Thomas was built differently with a jacked physique that could overwhelm anyone. As a national-level hunter and the world’s no.1 hunter, everyone treated him with respect and fear. He ticked everything regarding aspects of his power such as superhuman levels of strength, speed, resilience, and whatnot. Unfortunately, he had to battle against Jinwoo, a god-like figure which resulted in his defeat. Nevertheless, Thomas Andre will always be remembered by the fans as a mighty hunter whom no one should mess with (unless you are Jinwoo).
1. Sung Suho
Sung Suho was the only son of Sung Jinwoo and Cha Hae-In and naturally the protagonist of the Solo Leveling: Ragnarok series. Imagine being the son of two of the most legendary hunters of all time! Like in all other shonen titles, as the son of the main character, Suho is bound to surpass everyone as the greatest hunter of all time as he possesses unlimited potential like no other character in the story.
Unlike his father, he was gifted with the ability to level up from such a young age and is growing up at a rapid rate, unlike no one we have ever seen before. He was mentioned to surpass the level of an average S-Rank Hunter when he was in High School. At the moment only the Shadow Monarch aka his Father is dubbed to be the person who can win against Suho.
Suho has inherited all of his father’s skills and abilities and also learned more new powers that his father never had. He has officially become a national-level hunter in the sequel story and is shaping up to be the greatest hunter of all time. So, watch out for him and he will be overshadowing his father very soon.
Honorable Mention: Sung Jinwoo
Do I have to talk about Mr. Jinwoo’s powers? Everyone was well aware of how he was like the Goku of the Manhwa universe. He has already cleared numerous S-Rank Gates, all on his own, which made him qualify for the 6th national-level hunter in the story. However, it was surprising that Jinwoo was never officially given the title of a national-level hunter in the story.
Well, that didn’t stop the fans from penning a new title for our favorite Shadow Monarch which was the planet-level Hunter. Yes, Sung Jinwoo is the greatest hunter to have ever lived at the moment and has the power to rival against an entire planet’s forces. We didn’t include him in our list as he wasn’t officially recognized as a national-level hunter. But he doesn’t need to be as he is in a league of his own and let’s see if his son can catch up to his father’s legacy.
Other than Jinwoo, his father Sung Il-Hwan, and his wife Cha Hae-In were also considered to possess powers equivalent to that of a national-level hunter in the story. But similar to Jinwoo, they were never presented with the title of one but they should be remembered. Having said that, let us know your rankings of the national-level hunters in the comments below.
Thomas Andre, Liu Zhigang, Christoper Reed, Siddharth Bacchan, and Antoine Martinez are the five national level hunters mentioned in Solo Leveling. Recently, Jinwoo’s son, Sung Suho became the 6th national level hunter in the story.
Everyone knows that Sung Jinwoo is the strongest hunter in Solo Leveling and now his son Sung Suho has the potential to surpass him.
Yes, Sung Jinwoo’s strength surpassed all of the National Level Hunters as he is the Shadow Monarch. He is the greatest hunter in existence and fans awarded him with the title “Planet Level Hunter” to highlight his powers.
