The next major update in Minecraft is shaping up to be a major and exciting one, bringing long-awaited features to the game’s environment. We all can look forward to new mob variants, adding more diversity to the farms. In addition to these, we should totally expect some major expansion in the flora features of the game. With so many snapshots already introduced, we decided to sit down and list them out. So, with that, here are all the confirmed features coming with the next Minecraft update!
1. New Cow, Pig, and Chicken Variants
One of the biggest highlights of the Minecraft 1.21.60 update is surely the introduction of new mob variants. Past Minecraft snapshots have brought warm and cold variants of passive Minecraft mobs like pigs, cows, and chickens. The original ones were updated to include temperate variants.
You can find them in their respective biomes, which is pretty clear from the name itself. The warmer mobs have tanned skin, mostly toasty or rusty brown in color, probably due to the hot and humid climate they are native to.
The colder mobs have fluffy skin that most likely protects them from the cold and harsh climate in which they are spawned. Lastly, the regular temperate ones are found in the milder zones.
Another major addition to the game in the Minecraft 1.21.60 update, which is coming soon, will be Fireflies. If you remember, Mojang announced them a long time ago, but they didn’t make it into the game as the community pointed out that fireflies were toxic to frogs. Well, guess what? Fireflies are being added with the next Minecraft update, not as new mobs but as an ambient addition to the Firefly bushes.
2. Wildflowers and Cactus Flowers
The flora diversity is going to expand with the next Minecraft update, which will introduce two new flowers — Wildflowers and Cactus Flowers. Both these additions will surely help decorate your base and the paths to your village.
The Wildflowers resemble the cherry petals, appearing on the ground as yellow and white clumps. Moreover, using bone meal on them helps increase their count. You can place them on the crafting table to get yellow dyes.
Finally, Cactus flowers grow atop the plants found mostly in Desert and Badlands biomes. These flowers give off a pink dye, and you can place them on any block with center support. Combined with these new blocks, the next Minecraft 1.20.61 update is sure to give gamers more variety to decorate their base.
3. Falling Leaves and Leaf Litter
You might’ve noticed a common pattern in most of the latest snapshots released this year. Mojang is trying to make the world more immersive and dynamic by adding many ambient features. A couple of such additions are the falling leaves and leaf litter, which make the forests feel more realistic and aesthetic. The Leaf litter can be further used as a fuel in furnace and smelter.
One of the most alienated Minecraft biomes, the Desert, is also receiving an audio update. If you download and try out the new experimental features, you’ll hear various sounds while walking on top of sand and terracotta blocks in the desert biome.
Moreover, here, you will find two new variants of the dry grass block — the tall and the short ones. One significant use of these blocks is that feeding them to sheep will help them regrow their wool slightly faster.
These are all the new and confirmed features coming with the next Minecraft 1.21.60 update. This update has some immersive features that will surely make the world feel more alive than ever. What do you think about the new additions? Let us know in the comments below!
