Wanda Maximoff is among the smartest and most powerful witches the MCU has blessed us with. She initially appeared on several TV shows and films, but the character gained her share of praise after appearing in WandaVision. Fans could relate to the witch, and that’s why they didn’t shy away from showing love to her.
Wanda was loved for the good heart she carried despite being a witch. However, she gets corrupted by the Darkhold, and in the desire to reunite with her imaginary kids in the multiverse, she pursues several things that she shouldn’t have done. So, in the concluding moments of Dr. Strange 2, after realizing her evil deeds, the witch sacrifices herself and even destroys the corrupt book. Now that Agatha’s story is somewhere related to Wanda, fans curiously want to know if she is really dead or if Agatha All Along would bring her in a cameo role.
Is Wanda Maximoff Really Dead in Agatha All Along?
Agatha All Along’s first two episodes only tease one thing: ‘Wanda is Dead.’ Even though the series didn’t let us see her face, it teased her death several times. In the beginning, we see Agatha living the fake life of an experienced detective, Agnes, encountering a dead body with black nails. Later, we see Agnes coming across a dead person covered in a white sheet in a room. She notices a paper attached to the body’s feet when she goes close to the body. Initially, nothing was written on it, but as soon as she got closer, Wanda Maximoff’s name appeared. She gets perplexed as she isn’t aware of who she really is, so Rio Vidal shows up to make things clear.
The Green Witch Rio Vidal tells Agatha that the dead body is of Wanda Maximoff, aka the Scarlet Witch. She also tells her that Scarlet is dead and has taken Darkhold with her. Rio Vidal helped Agatha discover her true self and become the fearless witch that she was.
All being said, MCU has always shocked the fans by doing the unthinkable, so there are chances that the new series could see Wanda Maximoff back in action.
Goth Teen Might Bring Back Wanda Maximoff
Goth Teen was the one to rescue Agatha from Wanda’s spell when he was getting interrogated by the witch for breaking into her house. There were many instances when Goth Teen tried to introduce himself to Agatha, but something weird happened whenever he opened his mouth. For instance, the first time the boy revealed his identity, his mouth was sealed mystically, and no one could hear anything. The next time, his voice gets muted, and Agatha misses the chance to know about him again.
Fan theories state that Teen is actually Billy Maximoff, one of Wanda’s imaginary sons. Well, we understand it’s hard to digest. How can someone come to life out of imagination? But let’s not forget it’s the witches’ world, and nothing is impossible here. If that’s true, the Teen may want to bring Wanda back, and that’s why he needs Agatha’s help, as she is experienced in witchcraft.
The boy stated that the Witches’ Road can help Agatha regain her powers, as the ones who can walk it until the end get what they want. There’s a chance that he wants her mother to come back to life, so he is using Agatha.
Wanda Maximoff Can Make Cameo Appearances
The series’ creators have not given us a clear picture of who Goth Teen really is or whether Elizabeth Olsen will return as Wanda Maximoff in Agatha All Along. Given that the fate of the potent witch is unknown, it would be safe to say that if the series does not resurrect the character, it can still make Wanda make cameo appearances in flashbacks.
We can’t consider a character dead until the actor portraying them announces the big yet heartbreaking news. At the start of September, Variety spoke to Elizabeth Olsen about the character’s fate in the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Intriguingly, the actress raised every fan’s hopes of seeing their beloved Scarlet Witch back. The actress stated that Scarlet Witch is one such character with whom she will never get bored. Furthermore, in a video on the YouTube channel Jimmy Kimmel Live, Olsen stated that Wanda Maximoff is dead as far as she knows but wants to see the Scarlet Witch return.
She says that she would be happy if a window were always kept open for the character. However, she also mentions that this time, the character would need some of the finest writers to bring her back from the dead in the most sensible way.
