A huge majority of us know Phil Robertson from his blockbuster reality show, Duck Dynasty. The Blind takes us way back to the 1960s and tells us the story of Phil Robertson’s downfall and redemption. This movie shows us how he fell in love with Miss Kay and started a family with her. However, his inner demons took over his life and ripped apart everything he had built for himself. The blind is a cinematic masterpiece that will show you the whole arc of how he became the Phil Robertson we know today. The Blind is coming to Netflix this Sunday and is a movie you should check out.
4. Ride On
Often referred to as the “Last Action Hero”, Ride on brings us Jackie Chan in the role of an out-of-work stuntman named Luo. Since he does not have any work, he is struggling to make ends meet and take care of his beloved stunt horse, Red Hare. Due to the financial crunch and the debts he owes to people, he seeks help from his daughter and her lawyer boyfriend to save Red Hare from being actioned to clear off his debts.
However, in a turn of events Red Hare becomes a sensation overnight after his fight with the debt collectors goes viral on the internet. This movie has all the elements of a classic Jackie Chan movie, insane action sequences, humor, and an emotional undertone. 5. Cocaine Bear
It has been a while since we have got to watch a movie with an unhinged animal going around butchering people. Cocaine Bear revolves around a drug drop gone wrong and the cocaine lands in the hands, or should I say, the paws of a bear who eats it. 6. Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga
The latest addition to the Mad Max franchise, Furiosa, is now available to rent on digital. This movie takes us to the origin of the character of Furiosa we have previously seen in Mad Max: Fury Road. This movie did not have a really good opening but don’t let that fool you, Furiosa is a movie that will satisfy every single thing you expect from something coming out of the Mad Max franchise. 7. Wish
If you miss the old Disney animated movies, Wish is a movie that has been handcrafted for you. This movie revolves around a young girl named Asha who makes a wish so powerful that the cosmos itself answers it in the form of a little ball of infinite power referred to only as Star. She then embarks on a mission to save the people of her kingdom from the tyranny of King Magnifico who wishes to have total control over the wishes of all the people in his kingdom.
This movie is everything you would want to see in a Disney movie, so if you want to watch something you and the kids in your house enjoy equally, you should check out Wish!
8. Trigger Warning
Trigger Warning revolves around a United States Special Forces commando who returns to her hometown after getting the news of her father’s death. She inherited his bar but was kind of skeptical about her father’s death being an accident. When she started digging around, she came across a violent gang responsible for the death of her father and now, she seeks revenge. This movie is another one-man, or should I say, one-woman army-style movie and features some great action sequences that you will definitely enjoy.
9. Thanksgiving
If you are someone who enjoys watching Slasher-style movies, Thanksgiving is a flick that will take you back to the OG Texas Chainsaw Massacre days. This movie revolves around the small town of Plymouth in Massachusetts. A mysterious serial killer emerges in the town who starts killing people in Thanksgiving-style themes. Initially, people thought that this was the doing of some maniac but eventually, it was revealed that these killings were all related to the stampede that happened during the Black Friday sale. This movie is filled with jumpscares, gore, and unhinged sequences so, I would recommend you not to eat while watching it.
10. Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F
Beverly Hills Cop: Axel F revolves around Axel, who returns to Beverly Hills after a long time in response to the life of his daughter being threatened. There, he teams up with John Taggart and Billy Rosewood to get to the root of the threat. If you have watched the previous movies from this franchise, you already know that this movie is going to be an absolute joyride with unhinged humor and some serious action. So, you might just add this to your watchlist for the weekend.
