Lenny Kravitz has a story to tell. It’s about the first time he met his future son-in-law, Channing Tatum. The meeting happened thanks to a film – a love story that’s now hitting the big screen.
Channing Tatum and Zoë Kravitz, they’re the couple in question. They got engaged in 2023, but their story starts back in 2021. That’s when Zoë cast Channing as the lead in her directorial debut, Blink Twice.
The film? It’s a psychological thriller. Channing plays a billionaire named Slater King. He’s charming, inviting two young women to his private island for a weekend of luxury.
The women, Frida (Naomi Ackie) and Jess (Alia Shawkat), are thrilled at first. Gourmet food, tropical locale – what’s not to love? But then, Jess asks a question. It’s a joke, but it’s also a premonition. “So,” she asks Frida, “do you think the human sacrifice is before or after dinner?”
As the trailer reveals, Jess’ question might not be as far-fetched as it seems. She disappears, and Frida teams up with another guest, Sarah (Adria Arjona), to find her. They need to find Jess and get off the island alive.
But it’s not just about the lead actors. Zoë’s directorial debut, set to hit theaters on August 23, boasts a strong supporting cast. Onscreen veterans like Geena Davis, Simon Rex, Christian Slater, and Haley Joel Osment all feature in the film.
