Zangief's character theme R.E.D. released for Street Fighter 6
Now that Street Fighter 6 is less than 2 months away from launch, Capcom has run out of new characters to show off, but that doesn’t mean they’ve run out of stuff to keep fans entertained.
At the end of the latest Metro City Academy stream today, the developers unveiled Zangief’s full musical theme titled R.E.D. for Street Fighter 6.
Fans should immediately recognize the strings from the music featured in some of the most recent trailer shown off for SF6, but now we get to listen to the full thing.
I wouldn’t go as far as to say the grappler’s new music is a direct remix or cover of his classic Street Fighter 2 theme, but it does share a very similar hook and main motif to connect them together.
It seems to do a pretty good job of evoking those old SF2 feelings while adding in those poignant strings and techno beats to make the vibes more fresh.
They don’t say what the R.E.D. acronym stands for, but I wouldn’t be surprised if the R just stood for Red because Zangief isn’t all that creative.
In case you missed any of the previous recent Street Fighter 6 character themes, go back and listen to JP’s The Plunderer, Manon’s Walk with Grace, Marisa’s Pankration and Dee Jay’s All Right.
You can check out Zangief’s main beats you’ll be hearing in SF6 below, and we can expect to hear more from Cammy and Lily in the coming weeks too.
