With the support of Cross River Governor, Sen. Bassey Edet Otu, the Chairman of Canaan Table Tennis Club, Rt. Hon. Orok Duke, has put a smile on the faces of all table tennis players in the state in the spirit of Christmas.
Speaking during the donation of bags of rice and N400,000 at the U.J. Esuene Stadium, Calabar, Duke said the gesture was to ensure that table tennis players in the state have a taste of the season of sweetness heralded by His Excellency, Senator Prince Bassey Otu.
The Cross River State representative in the Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) board, said he would ensure that the goodwill of the federal government and that of the state government reach everyone irrespective of political and social affiliations.

He urged the players to continue to support Prince Bassey Otu-led state government, adding that the governor’s vision is to make the state and everyone in it prosper and achieve their full potential.
He further used the occasion to preach peace and love among Cross Riverians, as according to him, that is the true essence of Christmas.
On their part, the table tennis players thanked the state governor Prince Bassey Otu and Rt. Hon. Orok Duke for remembering them in this festive season, adding that the items donated had enable them celebrate the Christmas despite the difficult economic situation in the country.
