Man City are on the brink of securing their first ever UEFA Champions League quarter finals ticket as they trashed their Ukrainian opponent 3-1 in Kiev. Thanks to goals from Aguero, Silva and Yaya.
Sergio Aguero opened the scoring after a quarter of an hour at the Olimpic Stadium, rifling an excellent finish into the bottom corner of the net.
A superb team move saw Raheem Sterling set up David Silva for City’s second 25 minutes later, with the Premier League side in cruise control by the time the first half drew to a close.
Vitaliy Buyalskyi pulled one back for the hosts after the break with the help of a Nicolas Otamendi deflection, though, as City were put under pressure for much of the second period.
But Yaya Toure struck late on to give the visitors a two-goal cushion ahead of the second leg at the Etihad Stadium next month.
