The Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, on Sunday, urged Nigerians to promote peace, unity, and good neighbourliness as Christians all over the world celebrate Christmas.
He made the call in his goodwill message to Christians and issued by his Chief Press Secretary, Onogwu Mohammed, in Lokoja.
The governor admonished Nigerians to embody God’s love for humanity and extend the love to their neighbours during the festive season.
He stressed that the season symbolised hope for humanity and encouraged Nigerians to maintain a positive outlook.
Bello called for sober reflection and prayers for peace, unity, and togetherness, especially at a time when the country was navigating through a new economic course.
He also solicited prayers for leaders at all levels of government and kindness toward the less privileged to foster love and peaceful coexistence.
The governor, who assured the Kogi residents of his administration’s commitment to peace, security, and safety, expressed joy over the remarkable progress in socio-economic growth and infrastructure development in the state.
He thanked the people for their support and commitment to the state’s progress since the beginning of his tenure in 2016.
