Chinese manufacturer, Xiaomi, will release the Xiaomi 12 series on December 28th. According to the company, only the Xiaomi 12 and Xiaomi 12 Pro will hit the road this year. We expect more models in this series but they will arrive next year. According to reports, the Xiaomi 12 and 2 Pro commenced reservations on JD.com, Tmall, and other platforms yesterday. Just within 24 hours, the total number of reservations for the two flagships exceeds 200,000. This shows that the popularity of the Xiaomi 12 series is very high.

According to reports, the Xiaomi 12 and 12 Pro will use a flexible OLED display. Both smartphones will come with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen1 SoC. On the rear, it will have a 50MP main camera that supports optical image stabilization. The standard version supports 67W fast charge while the Pro version supports 120W super fast charging.
Lei Jun, the founder of Xiaomi and the chairman and CEO of Xiaomi Group, issued a note saying that starting from the Xiaomi 12 series, Xiaomi’s high-end mobile phones have officially started to benchmark against Apple and learn from Apple. The Xiaomi 12 series has a large and small screen model. The Pro model uses a large screen while the standard model comes with a small screen. From the reservations so far, we can see that this series will have a good sales performance.
Xiaomi 12 other speculations
The Xiaomi 12 device will come with an LTPO adaptive refresh rate screen. This feature will realize an adaptive refresh rate adjustment function between 1 – 120Hz. This feature will also bring an automatic adjustment of the display. This means that when a user activates a high-demanding game, the refresh rate of the display automatically sets to 120Hz. However, when the user is on a social app, it reduces the refresh rate significantly. This will ultimately help in the power consumption of the device.
Xiaomi 12 series will come with a high-quality screen that adopts a slightly curved design. These devices will come with batteries between 4700mAh battery and a 5000mAh battery. We also expect the 120W fast charging to surface on this series. However, there should also be 50W wireless fast charging. The large battery will get a full charge within 20 minutes and this will be a new record.
