Wrexham are having a truly incredible season in League One after being promoted from League Two last season.

The Welsh side are currently in second place, sitting only two points behind Wycombe Wanderers.

With commanding performances already, Wrexham are hoping to win back-to-back promotions to get into the Championship next season. Despite only just rising to the third tier, Wrexham have secured 3-0 wins over Shrewsbury, Reading and Exeter City, plus a 4-1 win over Northampton,

To prepare for their new challenge, Wrexham made several signings in the summer. However, the club clearly don’t think they have done enough, now looking to one of Manchester United’s strikers.

Before the season started, Wrexham signed Mo Faal from West Brom, Ollie Rathbone from Rotherham, Sebastian Revan from Aston Villa and Dan Scarr from Plymouth.

However, the club also signed Arthur Okonkwo, George Dobson, Matty James, Jon Dadi Bodvarsson, Josh Adam and Callum Burton on free transfers.

Now, the club are looking to get a loan deal for United star Ethan Wheatley.

Wrexham look to loan deal for Ethan Wheatley

Wheatley was recently promoted from the United academy and currently sits with the Under-21s playing in Premier League 2.

However, the striker has seemingly outgrown the reserve league, scoring six goals in nine games.

Whilst the 18-year-old has made four appearances for the senior squad, he seems to be struggling to find his place at Old Trafford.

As such, a loan move for the youngster could be perfect to give him some first-team experience.

Transfer expert Graeme Bailey recently told United in Focus that United could have several potential suitors interested in Wheatley.

The reporter explained: “Ethan Wheatley is one who a lot of Championship clubs like, I had heard Wrexham and Stockport for him.”
