A new tier list has been released for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate with Sonix, the world’s most successful Sonic user, as the author. All characters have been divided into the S+ tier, S tier, A tier, B tier, C tier and D tier categories.
This probably surprises nobody at this point, but the S+ tier category is occupied by a single character — Steve from Minecraft. At this point, it’s universally accepted that Steve is the best character in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
The S tier group includes Pyra & Mythra, Joker, Pikachu, Kazuya, Sonic, Snake and four others. Needless to say, it seems that Sonix believes that Sonic is around top 6 or top 10 in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.
It would seem that the B tier category is the most congested of Sonix’s tier groupings. In total, there are 34 characters located here which includes the likes of Sheik, Bowser, Ken, Ice Climbers, Byleth, Hero, Inkling, Corrin, Duck Hunt, Robin, Falco, Ridley, Pichu, Mega Man and the Wii Fit Trainer. Notably, a number of these fighters have had their fair share of successes at tournaments before.
Just like with the S+ tier group, the D tier group is home to only one character on Sonix’s new tier list. This suggests that Ganondorf is the worst fighter in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate. Once again, this is a tier placement that tends to be fairly common on most tier lists.
