Ruben Amorim’s move to Manchester United as their next permanent manager is nearly complete, and the United squad could be set for a shake up.
United recently spent around £200 million on summer signings for Erik ten Hag. However, his reluctance to use new signing Manuel Ugarte despite his high price tag was a part of the Dutchman’s downfall.
Now, The Red Devils are preparing for life under Amorim’s reign.
Although the finer details of the deal are still being negotiated, the set up under Amorim is already being discussed.
The Portuguese manager likes to play a 3-4-3 formation with wing-backs playing up and down the pitch.
United’s bosses feel that the current squad will be able to adapt to this style well, with one of their existing January targets fitting in perfectly.
Manchester United solidify interest in Ruben Amorim’s first signing
Bayern Munich’s Alphonso Davies has been on the cards for United for some time now to sign in January.
The left-back is believed to be a perfect fit for Ruben Amorim’s play style and could even come as a discount price.
Davies is coming to the end of his contract at the end of the current season. As such United were looking to negotiate a move as a free transfer for when his contract ends.
However, Sky Sports have now announced that Bayern are open to a cut-price sale in January.
Whilst accepting a discounted fee would be a blow for the German giants, it’s a better alternative to losing him for free at the end of the season.
