The FA has officially appointed Thomas Tuchel as England’s new manager.
After eight years under Gareth Southgate, the time has come for a fresh face in the dugout.
For the first time since Fabio Capello’s reign, England will have a foreign manager in charge on a permanent basis.
The FA announced that Tuchel has signed an 18-month contract, taking over from interim manager Lee Carsley from January 1, 2025.
This appointment, however, may come as interesting news for Manchester United, who were heavily linked to Tuchel over the summer.
With Tuchel reportedly aware that he was first in line if ten Hag was to be sacked.
However, Tuchel chose to accept the Fa’s job offer, worth £5 million.
With Sir Jim Ratcliffe reportedly having positive discussions with the German coach, some speculated he could replace Erik ten Hag if sacked.
But with Tuchel now committed to England, United will have to move on from Tuchel and look elsewhere if ten Hag is to be sacked.
Here are 4 reasons why Thomas Tuchel becoming England manager is good news for Manchester United.
