Vanessa Lachey and Nick Lachey’s relationship has been a rollercoaster. She’s been open about the fact that she had to give Nick an ultimatum after five years of dating. He just wasn’t popping the question. So, it’s no surprise that Netflix picked them to host “The Ultimatum.”
Vanessa spilled the beans during the show’s premiere. “I finally said, ‘What are we doing?’” she confessed. She had moved in with him, revamped his bachelor pad, and even accepted his pool bar. But now, she wanted kids splashing around in that pool. And she wasn’t shy about hinting at a ring.
But Nick wasn’t ready to tie the knot. They broke up for a bit, each of them seeing someone else. It was a rough patch, to say the least.
“It took us splitting up for about a month,” Vanessa revealed in an E! News interview at the 2022 premiere of “The Ultimatum.” But then, Nick had a change of heart. He wanted to make it work and even suggested couple’s therapy.
And guess what? They patched things up in 2009. Two years later, in 2011, they were saying their “I dos.” So, yeah, their story is a bit of a whirlwind. But it’s also a testament to the power of ultimatums.
