"Where Is The Much-Anticipated Change Promised By Buhari's Administration– Cleric

It is only natural for the highest specie of living things (Homo sapiens) to react to whatever seems to be antithetical to his comfort and survival especially when such situations is gradually tending to his complete annihilation from the harmonious relation to the otherness on planet earth.

It is the above foundation that have led some religious clerics to voice out. Contrary to the popular saying that their place is the pulpit and not politics.

The question that readily comes to mind is: Should we keep quiet even at such times as this in which the system is porous? Should we withdraw into our shells even when it is obvious that we just have to speak up so as to turn the table? Is silence the best answer in this times in which even the rich is also lamenting about the falling standards of our socioeconomic systems?

For Most Reverend Samuel A.Abidoye, this should not be the case. Even the Holy writ argues that there is a time to speak out..and that time is now.

Without much ado, The Spiritual Father and chairman, the Holy Order of Cherubim and Seraphim Movement Church (CSMC) Worldwide, Most Reverend Samuel Adefila  Abidoye, has decried the present socioeconomic situation that Nigeria is bedeviled with.

He argued that Nigerians are yet to see any improvement in the standard of their lives as the economy is not far from recession. He however avers that though the present APC administration is priding herself for having combated corruption and have brought about a general reform initiative in which the country.

In spoke regrettably that:

‘' … Nigerians are really anxious for improvement in the standard of their lives. They are hungry for new things. They want to see the realisation of the much anticipated change promised them. However, it appears Nigerians may actually be waiting for too long”.

He further added that ”The social equation has become so lopsided that poverty is no more an anathema in our society. Poverty has become a way of life for many Nigerians who could barely feed once in a day. However, this is not what they voted for. They voted, hopefully, for a better alternative. They want better lives for their children.

They desire improved social condition for young graduates. They want to see infrastructure improved. They need assurance of systemic change for better social well-being”.

Abidoye argued in his Easter celebration message to the nation Nigeria, tagged”Nigerians deserve change” that ‘violence had increased across the land, especially sectional, electoral and others that give worry about a stable nation'.

He further lamented the situation of our Nigerian  electoral processes which according to him has metamorphosed into platforms for reaping death among her citizenry.

I shall conclude by re-echoing  the words of the late prof. Chinua Achebe which informs that for our country Nigeria
” Things has fallen apart and the centre seems to no longer hold”
