‘What do you mean? I’m going to throw up’

Fighting game fans are eating good with almost all of the classics coming back now

'What do you mean? I'm going to throw up'

It appears Capcom wasn’t content with just releasing the Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection soon and caught their fans by surprise once again.

During yesterday’s Nintendo Direct: Partner Showcase, The Capcom Fighting Collection 2 suddenly appeared across the screens of thousands / millions around the world, which of course sent the fighting game community into a bit of a frenzy to say the least.

Like the previous Marvel Collection reactions, fans watching the stream (and those who came in after) were caught off guard likely not expecting another compilation so soon when the former isn’t even out yet.

There is of course unbridled joy of not only seeing both Capcom vs. SNK games return but also the likes of Project Justice, which hasn’t been available since the Sega Dreamcast port in 2001.

Furthermore, they dug even deeper for Power Stone and Power Stone 2 that fans have been begging for years to get a new release of.

And of course there is a common thread of jokes from those who reacted to the reveal that they could have left out Capcom Fighting Evolution — especially when the original Rival Schools isn’t included.

Maximilian Dood is the reaction most probably wanted to see the most, and he didn’t disappoint there.

At first, Max’s “what?” sounds more confused and almost scared about what’s happening when Ryu and Terry pop onto the screen, which is followed up with more expletives and screaming.

Knowing how his friend is going to react, Max then calls up Kenny “Unrooolie” immediately after and tells him to avoid the internet at all costs until he can see the Nintendo Direct.

Kenny obliges, and when he sits down for his reaction, you can see the nice Power Stone and Rival Schools signs lit up behind him — so you can take a guess as to how that’s going to go.

He starts popping off at CvS, but he can’t help but jump up and down when Justice appears on the screen.

And when Power Stone appears, Kenny screams and hops out of his chair so fast he unplugs either his microphone or headset, and you can comically hear the Windows notification sound when it happens.

He gets so excited he starts to cough and exclaim how he almost threw up.

Koefficient similarly had to run out of his chair to find his old copy of CvS2 on the shelf too.

It’s also nice to see the reaction of someone like the legendary Justin Wong, who used to (or in some cases still does) compete in a few of these titles as well.

We’ve included some of the most fun reactions we could find to the Capcom Fighting Collection 2 from Curiousjoi, Krimson KB, and Sages Gaming, which you can check out below — though don’t be surprised if you encounter some strong language among the excitement
