“I’m not as up to date as I probably should be, but regarding what I have heard, I don’t think it would be to any improvement to our society. Specifically, I know, in regard to some of his other policies as well regarding immigration and things related to that, it is actually, I think from what I’ve seen and what little I have looked at, just the downward spike in the economy in general. I know I’ve seen some bar graphs, at least, and it’s been noticeable in comparison to even Biden. But for Trump, within the first couple of months, it’s to no comparison.”
“I don’t think Trump’s tariffs are going to be the best for our country because right now, it seems like a petty battle with China, and we’re both just getting higher and higher in tariffs. It’s not helping our community whatsoever.”
“His use of tariffs is detrimental to our economy. It makes me think it hurts businesses, especially small businesses. I’ve seen a lot of small businesses that have had to shut down because they can’t afford it, and I think small businesses are very important to our economy and to our local area. So, seeing that happen is really sad to see, but I don’t know too much about the tariffs, and I would love to know more, but it has just not been ideal right now.”
“I feel like I understand where Trump is coming from, but at the same time, I don’t think he really should be doing it to our neighboring countries, like Canada. I feel like he’s just ruining relationships when it comes to that, but at the end of the day, I see where he’s coming from.”
“I feel like, in a way, it is good because he is trying to get, in some way, to gain leverage on other countries, but I feel like the way he is doing it and how abruptly he is going about it is harming a lot of things. He is doing a lot of manipulation when it comes to it because I think he ordered like 10%, and then he made China’s go up exponentially. So, just like that, he is kind of changing the market. I feel like he maybe has a plan, but either way, I feel like he is harming a bunch of people in lower classes. People have to deal with prices going up, and a lot of people don’t really have a lot of money for some things, so his timing of everything is really kind of frustrating and hurting a lot of people that are in the lower class.”
“I think it’s an interesting thing that he’s doing. I don’t know if it’s really going to be beneficial in the long run. It might sound fine right now, but I think it’s going to affect a lot more people than we were expecting, and other neighboring countries and stuff like that are going to get hit that probably won’t need to get affected, and who we might need in the long run.”
