We’re not sure which point of authority carries more weight, the fact that Nakat was one half of the team that won MultiVersus back when it was at Evo in 2022, or that he’s on the game’s development team and been privy to the inner workings and secrets of it all.
Either way, Nakat has to be the most qualified person on the planet at this point in time to offer his tier list opinion on the recently re-released MultiVersus. He’s released a video detailing two such lists: one for singles and one for duos.
The 26-character roster is spread out across five tier levels including Super Good, Really Good, Good, Hmmmm, and Assistance!
There’s a clear top tier according to Nakat whether you’re fighting on your own or with a friend, and that’s Wonder Woman. He deems her “godlike” due to her combo potential, defensive abilities (her armor is a big deal), and her relatively fast recovery times.
The reigning Evo MV champ goes on to say that Wonder Woman isn’t quite a clear number one since she’s in contention with two other characters for that title; you’ll have to watch his video to find out which two those are, as his lists are ordered vertically, but not necessarily horizontally.
On the other side of the spectrum, Velma is at the very bottom of both lists, existing in her own “Assistance!” category. It seems after her initial run as one of the best in the business, developers (Nakat claims he’s not been one to offer any input on her at the office) nerfed Velma into oblivion.
