The Anambra State Police Command, has said they were able to win back the State from hoodlums and criminal elements terrorism some local government areas and communities due to preventive policing introduced by the Commissioner, CP Aderemi Adeoye.
The State Police Public Relations Officer, PPRO, SP Tochukwu Ikenga disclosed this in Awka, on Thursday during interactive session organised by the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ), Anambra State Council.
According to Ikenga, the CP is a gallant officer with listening ear, disciplinarian and always meet with the various stakeholders before taken certain actions for crime detention, prevention and eradication.
“He has succeeded in winning back Anambra State from criminals. He adopted preventive policing this time. He always work with all the stakeholders, including the local vigilante. Under his style, the command engages and dislodged criminals.

“If you give him information, he will direct officers for proper investigation before we will launch an attack and achieve greater results. It is not yet over until we conquer all parts of Anambra State from criminals,” he stated.
The CP, who was represented at the occasion by DCP Akin Fakorede had praised the media, especially the NUJ members for supporting the command under him to achieve higher feats in combating crimes.
Adeoye, who said he introduced several security policies and strategies aimed at safeguarding the State, assured that they would be sustained.
He revealed some of the recent achievements of the command under him such as dismantling of insurgents camps at Awka North, Aguata, Ọrumna North and South and others.
Earlier, the State Chairman, NUJ, Comrade Odogwu Emeka Odogwu, PhD, hailed the CP for finishing strong after several achievements recorded under the command in security and combating crimes.
He noted that the interaction was to celebrate Adeoye whose retirement is near for finishing strong.
Odogwu also commended the CP for honouring their invitation for the programme, while congratulating him finding favour in the eyes of the State government which even named a street after him.
