I am excited to share with you the work of South African artist The Monster Wolf as they follow in Marvel vs. Capcom’s footsteps merging the worlds of Spider-Man and Street Fighter in a new and creative way.
Only two characters appear in this concept (at least thus far) as we go to a universe where Chun-Li is also Spider-Man and Juri has been infected by a symbiote a la Venom.
Chun-Li rightly gets to also borrow Spidey’s “Amazing” title as we see her in a light blue version of the web-slinger’s suit, complete with extra room for hair buns. The combination of colors on the page is beautiful as the gray helps the gold and the lighter blues to pop.
Also, the artist is sure to make Chun live up to her trademark, boasting a lower half that clearly has enough power to kick right through a brick wall.
The melding of Juri and a symbiote is a perfect match, given the pair could figure out a way to get along with one another. Juri is nicknamed “the Spider” for the same reasons she fits so naturally in to the iconic black suit from the world of Spider-Man.
There are sadly only a few drawings of these characters (thus far) but we’d bet if enough of us followed Monster Wolf on X and shouted out how much we love this work we’d get a few more in the future.
