The Super Eagles of Nigeria will take on Zimbabwe at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo on Tuesday in the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifying series.
The Eric Chelle-led team will be hoping to make it two wins from two following their impressive 2-0 win over Rwanda on Friday to revive their hopes of making it to the expanded tournament in 2026.
The victory moved the team up to fourth on the table with six points from five matches, while Zimbabwe are the basement boys in the group with three points from the same number of matches.
Chelle has been tasked with wrestling the sole ticket in the group following the team’s poor start to the series under Finidi George, with three draws.
Zimbabwe, on the other hand, have no objectives of making it to the mundial following their poor start to the race.
The team fought back from a 2-0 deficit to snatch a 2-2 draw against Benin Republic in their last match, and they will be hoping to draw inspiration from the game to face the Super Eagles.
The first-leg ended 1-1, Zimbabwe took the lead in the 26th minute through a stunning free-kick by Walter Musona.
The Super Eagles managed to salvage a point after Kelechi Iheanacho converted a penalty.
